what is really happening in the last days of flowering...?

i mean the process when the buds get really dense. what is happening,is there new calyx growth or is there water getting into the calyx or or or?
i urgently would like to know.

Well.. my best guess would be that the calyx (as we are calling them here) are swelling as some kind of stress related to not yet being pollinated.. some sort of last effort to get pollinated. Not sure though.. definitely don't quote that.

Perhaps it isn't stress.. but I'm sure it has to do with being pollinated. Though, that is rather vague because you could say every damn thing the plant does is for the purpose of being pollinated if you really wanted to..

Ever seen a plant go well past the prime harvest window and see the calyx start to deflate (lack of better word)? The cause for that would be interesting to know as well.. I would guess it plays in to the same processes that make it swell.

water in the buds should be present but minimal, oil is prominent, along with the trics

some say this is a defensive thing others disagree,

keep water away from the exterior of the buds for fear of risking Pm or mold
