What is ppm and how can I tell how much ppm is in my water?

PPM means Parts per Million and it is a way you measure the amount of salts in water. Salts are also nutrients. The way to measure is to use a PPM meter.

You may want to look at a PH meter as well. some will do both but there expensive.

Ebay has some ppm meters for like $50

Increase PPM by adding nutrients. Decrease by running tap water through reverse osmosis, or decrease the ppm of a nutrient solution by adding more fresh water too it.

be more concerned about your ph not ppm. if you follow a feed schedule your ppm should be fine. or get a combo meter.
your water should be 0 ppm
