What is mold?

What is mold?
I know mold the fuzzy kind but can mold be something else like discoloration?
I'm starting to break open the super thick buds and yes, I found fuzzy mold on one.
But some others, its a brown color where the nodes come off the tops of the bud.

I'm told its a slight oxidation because it gets no light.
Nothing shows under a mold detecting green light.

So if it has no fuzzy white then its mold free?

Note: Iv never opened a bud apart, iv never seen mold until this week so im freaked out.

No, brown can be mold too. We'd usually find it inside the bud. But just trim that shit out of there, clean your scissors with some lysol or alcohol afterwards, rinse 'em (scissors) after a few minutes, and go about your business.

So I got a black light just now ( A real one)
Well there is nothing greenish like im told when you have mold.
Guess im ok? (Funny even the moldy one passed) *Not much mold really just like the size of a pin point*

Has any one used a black light to detect mold?

Well, I don't use anything to confirm mold. If it's not green, healthy plant material, then it's probably mold. I found 3 different kinds of mold on my plants growing outdoors this year. The brown stuff, which usually hits the top first (but check underneath buds too), was the worst. I didn't think to look at first cause the veg phase went so smoothly, and when I did, it was established. I spent hours looking for the smallest, earliest signs of mold, to prevent further infection. Usually a small brown, slightly mushy spot. If it doesn't feel like "plant" get rid of it!

When the buds really started thickening up, I started peering into the colas, and sometimes it was heartbreaking. I found thick white fuzz all throughout the fattest colas, and they looked normal outside! Worst part is, there isn't anything usable to trim off and dry. Thankfully that only happened twice.

And powdery mildew started showing up towards harvest. Not dangerous to the plant, really, but not something you want to smoke.

But a dried green bud will turn brownish yes? I mean it cant stay bright green when dry yes?
My take is when you dry a peach its pink then it goes pink and brownish, like a dry grass blade?

My friend said Im a worry wart and inside a bud it wont produce as much cholor green colors and will be slightly brown (Not a mold)
I guess I put my nuggets into the dry racks bright green and they came out with a sugary glazey brown hue on the stem.
Looking under a scope I show tricombs.

I DO know what a fuzzy white mold looks like and I just toss them into the trash, but I broke open a bud and it had so many brown hairs I guess thats a bud.

Put it this way, if their is no "Plant damage" then its not mold yes?
A dry nugget deep inside cant be bright green can it?

My friend said stems grow hair like tricombs but no head to keep insects from getting in.
I know it looks like mold but Im assured over and over its natural.

I work my self up into a frenzy, because my lack of experience.

ALso from what Im told ~NOTHING~ in the world is free of mold. If you shine a black light its all over the walls.
So apart from a fuzzy nugget, weed can have like a pin head white glow now and then and its considered ok?

*Im not talking obvious fuzzy pot but microscopic mold requiring scientific instruments like black light inspections*

Sorry I suffer from OCD and it flares up about 6x a year, and right now im tripping.

That light little fuzz? Yeah, I think you're tripping. Your bud is much frostier than mine, and it seems to match. I think you're cool. The stems will turn brown as they dry. Take your friends' advice and chill out, man.
