I would like to start growing and potentially produce some grade A meds. I am willing to pay for consulting but if I can learn here, even better. I have the time to research so if anyone can point me in the right direction for green house growing that would be great! A friend talks about light depth a lot, to start: what is that?? Also any references to a tutorial for setting up a grow for indoor quality buds would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing some feed back. Thanks guys!

I think your friend is talking about Light-dep, aka light deprivation. This can only be done while growing in greenhouses. Light deprivation encourages plants to flower by limiting the hours of sunlight they receive daily. =p This is done by hoisting a very large tarp, either mechanically or by hand, over your green house every day around the same time. Consider it an artificial sunset. <3

Thank you very much for the info! This was all very useful. I'm pretty sure that is exactly what he is referring to. So this process could essentially reduce the time to flower significantly?

Using light deprivation will allow you to harvest multiple times in a year in a greenhouse rather than only once. Cannabis is a seasonal plant and normally only flowers once in a year as the hours of daylight diminish towards the end of summer and early fall. Light deprivation mimics this process in a controlled manner.

Sounds like you need to start researching in the absolute beginners area.

Learn the basics before proceeding imo.

Invest your first bit of money getting a couple of good grow bibles. Jorge Cervantes books are an excellent place to start and will have answers to almost every possible question.
