What is flushing?

Working on first grow, i've heard a lot about flushing before harvest. What is flushing, and how is it done? My grow is 100% pure water, soil, and cfls

flushing is just removing all added nutrients and switching to just plain water, do it for the last two weeks of the flowering cycle

flush ur plants like a toilet :]
