What is autoflowering?

It's starts flowering based on age not by the change of light. Actually most strains that are auto flowering start flowering in about 3-4 weeks.

if seen some ppl here say 20/4 throught the plants life, but thats hear say too.. i have some autoflower i have not germed yet but iwll after this grow is done in gonna try that light scduele as soon as i can....

im really baked right now hope i mad sense..my bad.............lol

autos are VERY forgiving as far as their light cycles go. This is my lowlife auto that has not had a consistent light cycle yet. Most of the time it gets 2 hours of darkness so its basically on a 22/2 light cycle.

I also hear people use 18/6 on them as well as 24/0. So for not giving my plant a decent consistent light cycle it's doing fairly well. This picture is at about 2 weeks flowering. This plant showed its sex at about week 2 from seed.

I forgot to say I am also only using 2 23 watt 2700k cfl's on this plant and that's it. (low on funds) The soil is miracle grow and I just started giving it fox farms nutrients at 1/4 strength.

The potency depends on the strain, and how well you treat it. Autoflowering strains are made by crossing usually an indica with a ruderalis (hemp) although that's as much as I've ever bothered to find out on the subject, I would suspect the hemp genes would limit the potency somewhat, although proper selective breeding would bring out desireable traits like increased resin production etc.
Autoflowerers never really interested me, I like to be able to plant a couple of seeds of a strain, get a female and take as many clones as I like for as long as I like without having to shell out for more seeds every grow.
