What is a good name brand soil that you have used to start your seedS with? I am going to the hydro store today to get some and I just really need help because I have ruined like 15 seeds in the past 2 months and am just having a hard time getting my second grow off to a good start and it is making depressed because I have already burned up two monthes and I might have to start over again. THanks

This is what I use BACCTO Professional Planting Mix
I looked at the website and saw it has nutes in the soil already. I have read that u should not give the plants nutes for like 3 weeks. My first grow I used miricale grow and my seedlings did good. This, my second grow, I bought some biobizz light mix with no nutes and my seedlings are just all messed up. I guess I will buy a soil close to what u have with nutes in it and see what happens. Just discouraging to be 2 monthes into in and maybe have to start over again. But thanks!!

Hey pimp what state r u in... If your hydro store carries ROYAL GOLD'S BASEMENT MIX get it, it's very light, lots of perlite and lava rock, no heavy nutes to burn them youngens... in my opinion it's the best stuff I've used to start germinated beans...the root structure developed so fast in this stuff..it is a coco mix, good stuff, if they got it at the hydro store in your neck o' the hood try it out you won't regret it...you almost can't overwater the stuff

fox farm 70% OF 30% LW. I use this the entire grow.
I do have some BioBizz light mix also. Can I mix 70% of the ocean forest and 30% of the Biobizz light mix?
Maybe that will make it less hot? Or maybe I can do 50% and 50%. When I just put the seeds in the BioBizz light mix, I started seeing signs of def. after a week. I added nutes and over nuted them. I found out today when I went the hydro shop that I should of been doing a schedule of FEED> WATER > WATER > FEED. I had been giving 1/4 nutrients everytime I watered and I think that is where I over nuted them. I am just tired of wasting seeds and valuable time.

i'm using scotts potting mix. no probs so far.i'm also a beginner to.from what i understand it is better than miracle grow soil because of the ph levels. i picked some up at the home depot.we'll see what happens in the end though

yeah i know how you feel. i been wanting to start this thing full blast already... i just got some a.i. seeds saturday. from nirvana. i germinated 4 but only 2 sprouted so far. its been 2 days. i just wanna se some prgress already. my first grow i managed to grow 3 promising plants to 2 weeks into flwering only to discover they were ALL males!!! wtf right? so i wanna do it right this time. the only thing holding me back is that cash. sorry if im rambling. im on some klonopin and it always makes me ramble. ill jst stop here

everyone always is talking shit about miricale gro. i dunno i used that for my plants on my first grow. they took off great. too bad they had dicks!!!!!!!!! but anyway. i think im going to stop hyjacking peoples threads and start my own grow log so check it out....

I do not mind people telling me about their problems too..Lets me know I am not alone..haha My first grow went good and I started out with Miracle Grow and it did not get burned, so I do not know why the FoxFarm Ocean Forest would burn the plants if I started them from seeds. I know that the Foxfarm has nutes that last about a month, I am hoping they will grow and lot and by the time the month is up I can start giving them nutes. I am just having trouble getting past this damn seedling stage. I do not like this trial and error..Takes up to much time I don't have.
