Snag yourself a giant trash barrel. Lug that thing out there. Rig a rain tarp up in a tree with a feeder hose going into the trash barrel. Bam you got water. An hour long downpour will fill up a 75 gallon barrel easily.
If you're dead set on carrying water then hit up some food joints for their fryer oil jugs. They come in 4 to 5 gallon jugs with awesome plastic handles on the top. Think of a 5 gallon milk jug except the handle is on the top of it. Protip leave the thick cardboard on. Spray paint also sticks to the plastic very nicely so you can camo those things up and hang em in a tree when you're done.
If you wanna be super lazy about it go to anywhere that sells auto accessories and get one of the gas siphoning tool things so you don't have to stand there and fill it up from the creek. You just pop the end hose in the water. The top into the jug. Pump it a few times and play the waiting game for a few minutes. Spend 10$ > breaking your back.
