What in the What are these Bugs???

I maintain a buddies room for him for medical reasons and i am the only one allowed in or out i keep it sealed and airtight...until the dreaded day i went in and saw these everywhere!! i almost freaked because i thought they were Spider Mites...but there is a catch: THEY ARE NOT EATING ANYTHING NO PLANTS OR ROOTS????. i can flip my cubes over and there is not a single one on the roots, but they are on top of the rock wool even on the damn tarp lol, but not eating the plant. I let them go for a week now to ensure they weren't eating anything and still not a single spot or blemish.

I have included the best possible pictures.

all help is greatly appreciated.

Might be aphids. Not sure though, unless you got a super micro shot.
In my experience, they are easy to get rid of. I use azamax if I have a problem.

From some light reading in the other sections i think it might, but why are they not eating anything? too young? either way i did pick up some Azamax just in case i plan to dunk the whole plant in a bucket of solution, what dosage would you recommend?

I do the heavy dose one time, then follow up if needed. If I clean well its not needed lol.

I don't dunk plants, I spray and root drench.

I can't see it real clearly. Compare it to these.

I've had spider mites and there are no distinctive marks and they arent eating after a week. Spider mites would hsve tore my plants to shred in a week. Lol. And thrips...hmm, I don't see any red eyes on em?? And they are not slinder more pear shaped. Gonna pick up a stronger glass and see what's up. They might be predator mites?

Alright I got some x100 photos...drum.rollllll, and it's predator.mites.. I know now because they are changing to red in color. Which also means they are california predator mites, who would have thunk...I accidently got the good guys, still have to kill em, but I won't go too crazy with the azamax.

Here is a stock image and notice the "X" shape symbol in their abdomen. I noticed a few of them had it and even the clesr white ones but they were harder to see. Here is a stock image showing the ssme thing I also noticed the eggs are oval shaped and not round.
