Good call on the not watering. Until the roots fill out you don't need to water even when growing in coco. When the plants are bigger and have a bunch of roots then it's time for the daily waterings. Too many people drain to waste daily in coco with small plants and seedlings. Small transplants and seedlings grow better in just damp coco without daily waterings. Some people say you can't overwater in coco which is true when you're talking about larger plants but seedlings and small plants can drown with daily waterings stunting their growth. Nice to see someone else that understands that.

With my seedlings I water when they feel about half the weight. Sometimes this can take 3 days or so in the beginning.
I tend to wait until my seedlings are requiring daily feeds before transplanting.
By doing this I find it gives the seedlings a really good root structure ready to go for the next transplant.

That's a damned good idea, and I'm surprised after hundreds or even thousands of transplants I've done that I didn't think of it.
I usually just pack the bottom of the recipient three gallon pots so that the top of the soil on the root ball will be about 3/4" below the surface of the new soil. I then use one of my starter 1/2 gal pots to fill the sides and top of the transplanted plants.
I think I'll try to see about filling all the way up like you've done and see if it can save me a bit of time and mess.

I’ve been doing it this way for years lol. The tutorial I posted was posted years ago lol. Maybe 2011? I can’t remember lol.
give a go. When you’re going from a small pot to a larger pot it’s so easy to just tip your medium into your pot.
pack it down as you like it, then pop your donor pot in and fill around it in a few scoops of medium.

atm with all the shit storm of the virus I’ve got a fair amount of time on my hands lol. So I figured why not just post a bit.
like I said at the start, it’s hard for newbs to know who’s legit or who’s an “OG” lol.
so I’d like to think by doing things such as this from time to time helps those newbs to research who is giving them advice. Then to actually see “oh shit they can grow some good weed!” Lol.

Yippee it’s feeding night.
still in my grow at the minute just updating you all.
here’s a shot of what I was greated to today.
Perky plants that aren’t stressed. Just what I like.
as you can see the coco is beginning to dry more on top which means I’m about to feed (just pH’ing my mix!)
heres a few more pics.
Now this is how much I’ve cut off tonight!
I’m leaving 2 nodes
this is how they now look.
current mix is 1.0EC source water starting 0.2EC. Up to 0.4EC of Ca. Base nutes A/B up to 1.0.

Hi I’m new to growing was wondering what the straws are for? Also this is my 3 day old Bruce banner auto not sure if it’s big enough

The straws helped to stabilise the stem as they stretched more than I wanted due to me not getting their pots high enough to my light.
Shit happens Lol.
yeah looks fine for a few days old.
stop stressing.
