ive been wondering latley what the plant does in the dark i thought they store all the energy all day from the lights then use it in the dark im probably way off any one help me out with a link for this or any advise thanks
Always heard that the topside of the plant works and grows during the day, and the roots work and grow during the night. Might just be... folklore? Whatever the word is for stuff thats passed down with no real solid evidence.

The chemical/biology side is quite complicated but simply put-
Plants need to produce energy or they die. To produce energy they form glucose through photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a light driven reaction so some of the glucose is converted into startch and stored in cells. At night this startch is converted back to glucose and then into energy.
Respiration is what plants do at night the same as during the day

then as morning breaks they take in water and perk up
