What happens if.......

You let a plant flower until its ready to harvest, but you don't harvest. You place the entire plant buds and all back under 24/0 for a re-veg. What happens to the lower buds as vertical growth continues? Would the plant continue to produce sugars and energy and place them into the buds? Lets say hypothetically the buds swell hard as a rock, or potency in quadrupled. I was thinking like I usually do, any thoughts?

Well I know that, but what would happen to the matured buds? Would they just shrivel and die and fall off?
