what happens if my plant prematurely flowers?

i'm new to this so any help is appreciated. found a plant in my backyard that has been probably been trying to grow for the past couple of years but i kept mowing the lawn. well, i put it off for the past couple of weeks and poof...10" or 11" plant. it should probably be still in the veg state but is flowering everywhere and not that tall. i moved it inside to a pot and grow closet but what should i do now? 12/12 HPS? 24 CFL? had it on 24 CFL for a few days but just moved it to 12/12 HPS for past 2 days. should it be premature and why? thanks guys

What happens? You get bud earlier, just less of it lol.. If it was outdoors and you're getting more than 12-13 hours of light it could be a ruderalis or hybrid of such. In which case there's nothing you can do but enjoy your surprise weed when it matures. I'd throw it into 18/6, if it keeps flowering then you'll know it's auto flowering for sure, if it reverts to veg, let it get as big as you'd like it to be and restart flowering.
