High...I am new to growing...doing first grow now but had the same problem as you. After reading alot of useful information on this site it help me correct my problems. I thought I had good soil (feeds up to 9 months) but it had nutes already in it so every time I watered it was getting to many nutes early on. So that started yellow and brown on my leaves. I corrected that by repotting in different soil. I also watched my watering so droop went away. I added more lights and now they are growing once again. I have a grow journal started to help me next time in my mistakes.

If you look closely at the pictures you will spot a slight degree of mottling between the veins of your plant's leaves. It appears as if the leaf matter between the veins is turning a lighter color. If you watch them and that does turn out to be the case the following might be your answer and it could fit with you having already been told to feed your plants.

Zn - ZINC (Zn)

White areas form at leaf tips and between veins. Occurs in alkaline soils. Zn deficiency can be treated by burying galvanized nails in the soil. Chemical fertilizer containing Zn can also be used.

It may have been partially the lighting conditions when you took your picture and also the quality or lack thereof of your camera but it does appear that something is occurring between your leaf veins and it appears to be at least mainly on the middle and upper leaves.

If it were occurring on the lower leaves I might guess the following:

Mg - MAGNESIUM (Mg)

Lower leaves yellow and may even turn white while veins remain dark green. Blades die and curl upward.

But that does not appear to be the case because it appears that the mottling at least began on your plant’s middle leaves.

Feed them with a quality fertilizer and then watch them closely to see if anything changes and what changes they may be. If any changes do not appear to be positive then scream for help and someone will come-a-runnin’.

those are equivilent watts your looking at. whats the actual watts? im gonna guess maybe 26 actual watts(very rough guess/estimate). get like 3-5 42w (actual watts) cfls to add in there. i use to buy 3-4 new cfls and clamp light socket w/reflector every pay day (only like $50) when i had my inside grow going last winter and im up to 22 42w 2700k for my flowering chamber. which is currently not up and running quite yet this fall/winter. just keep adding one or two here and there when ya can.

how many 100w cfls does it take to give my plant the right amount of light

I think what might be good to add to your questions is to ask how many watts of CFL will it take to equal a certain wattage of HID lighting that you may wish to equal.

What one person considers to be enough may in fact be a very low wattage so it can be useful to have some sort of yardstick to go by, some comparison to use that can then if nothing else be divided or multiplied to come up with some amount of light that equals what you would like it to equal.

The attached chart below might give you a starting point. You can take the HID wattage and what it takes in wattage to equal the HID light and figure out what would be needed in CFL’s to equal other wattage HID lights. The chart does not make a comparison to home lighting CFL’s like most CFL users pick but the amount of needed wattage would still remain the same using the CFL’s they do compare to.

Also keep in mind what else was said; "those are equivilent watts your looking at. whats the actual watts?"

Compare apples to apples and not apples to zebras.

there are not equivalent
they are exactly 100w
i made sure they werent because the first ones i bought were 26 actual watts and someone on here told me that it wasnt enough light

will metal halide work for veg?
high pressure sodium for flowering?
does it take up too much energy?
im on a budget

Scotts soil is the best, you need to transfer to a 12" pot. you are either overwatering, which i think you are or they are getting to hot or combo of both

if your on a budget for one plant i'd buy a 250w hps/mh conversion bulb and ballast. then all ya gotta buy is just 1 ballast and a hps bulb and a hps to mh conversion bulb instead of a mh ballast and bulb and hps ballast and bulb seperately. if u wanna add a few plants get a 400w. that should be more than enough. good luck.

thanx for the answers
but is it even worth trying to fix it
i mean is all my mistakes gonna effect my plant in the future
all i want is some good bud i can smoke that i didnt have to pay for

Don't give up on it yet. I've seen way worse plants than that pull through and give a nice yield.

Dude, 300W is plenty of light for that one plant. Don't listen to the CFL haters. 300W is freaking sweet for one plant, if you ask me (as long as you're keeping them super close to the plant, that is).

The problem is obviously a nutrient deficiency, as you say you haven't given them any nutes. Which nutrient is deficient? Well, it's probably more than one so go pick up a good all purpose fertilizer and start giving it a diluted dose (maybe 1/8 of what the instructions say) and build up to a higher dose. DON'T fertilize every time you water. More like once a week (every other watering?).

Your plant doesn't look too bad. Not too bad at all. There's still hope for it =)
