Nice man, keep me posted on how it works out. If you have any questions you know how to get ahold of me. Make sure to run the whole setup for at least 24 hours to test it out before you put plants in there. Try and keep a thermometer around plant height under the lights and figure that adding plants will increase temps by 3-4 degrees.

save your money bro return the tent and order the earth worth tent off off amazon for 210 shipped for a 4x8 tent with 10" ports i run 2k in this very tent with a 780cfm fan and maintain a temp of 75 lights on

why is that tent better? because its cheaper? i think not. i am not the type of person to be abliged by half twitted answers. dont be offended, but if you can try to impress me by this Earth Worm tent, then please show me some proof! but the Sun Hut's are an industry standard my friend. i doubt they are un-efficient. i understand that if money was an object and i really wanted to cut corners, building my own tent would be thee best bet. maybe you shoudl return the tent you bought and build your own, sir.

I purchased a agrowmax 4x8 tent from ebay for 270$ and it has been the best tent i have bought yet. Plenty of ports and extremely strong, very well constructed. The material is double stiched so it wont tear. I zipped myself in and found no light leaks. Running 1000w hps with king cobra hood and valuline 6 fan w/ speed controll and temps at 78 to 81 degrees. Thinking about adding another 1000w. Great tent if this helps

i have a 4x8 with 2 1k's in it i use x2 8" 740cfm fans (both with carbon filters) one for intake and one for exhaust. the room the tent is in is 12x12 and i had to put a 8500btu portable ac unit in there to cool the room enough to cool the tent with the 8" intake (all fans reduced down to 6" of course) tent stays about 78-80F doing it this way. venting out a window to keep from cutting holes in the wall is a great idea and i have done it numerous times with great success.

wow looks like your lights are really far away. i see that done in magazine, but every time i ask people at the hydro shop, they always say "keep the light as close to the plants as possible". why do they say that? i think im going to raise the lights up every week, by about 2 inches. and hopefully in 4 weeks they lights will be the highest they can go. i have to give turning the ballast up to full blast tonight, but i have a issue with fucking humidity now. never seen mold in the last 3 grows and humidity ALWAYS reached 80+ on nights i watered. kicker now is im using a 4x8 tray that is on the ground. i can not raise it up, i have more vertical room. so drain trays are not an option. im really hoping all the water evaporates before the next watering, if it doesn't its just going to add up and eventually my plants will be swimming. NOT GOOD! i need a new a/c unit. should have it at end of harvest if all goes to planned. i think if i had a 15kbtu a/c and figured out how to exactly make passive intake with tent and what not i should be able to suck cold air into the tent come the middle of summer. i seriously have to figure out a way to raise the exhaust fan with the lights when its time. i have nothing holding it up except for the stings in the other other ports, ya, not good.

what is a good way to mount the exhaust inside the tent? the higher the better!

THANK YOU DUB!!!!! this is the answer i was looking for. i already have dude on ignore. seems like he needs a morning bowl to smoke. yeah i have thought about 2 options. a reducer, OR literally cutting a duct hole and buying a 8" flange kit. BUT!! after dumping $300-whatever on the tent i thent is counter productive to modify it, ya dig? and YES! 6" ports. and the box says there is only 2!!! i onw the same companies tent in a smaller size and it has like 9 ports!!! 3 different sizes!! why do companies do this shit? just to piss me off? i was almost debating returning the tent and building my own out of 2x4's and Visquen plastic. could i get the better Can-Fan Max? just for extra bonus? ya see, my major issue is i really do not know how im going to run all my exhaust system. i have a few ideas. if i cut the hole out in the wrong area, im fucking screwed! ya know what im saying? i have a portable a/c unit. i can not cut any hols into my walls, im renting. i was hoping i could use the a/c unit to make the ambient room temps cooler, dra in the cooler air to cool off the lights. and exhaust cool air into the room. that is the only way i can do it. so my question does have merit. i am knocking my head on the wall. i returned the Grow Lab tent yesterday because it was only 3'11". the guy at the hydro shop told me he has the same tray and same tent. supposedly Botanicare designed a new 4x4 tray. and the new one is has smaller outside dimensions. dont know if that is true, but i have the Sun hut Silver XXL now. im hating this tent with a passion. so much i haven't even opened it. im debating returning it today.

is there any other tents on the market, besides Sun Hut, Grow lab and the Hydrofarm ones. them HF ones are fucking like $700!!!! what are my freaking options? i was debating getting the next size up of the Grow Lab tent, the 140L. but then i will not be able to get around my plants. i will have no outside room in the actual room room. my head hurts....
www.htgsupply.com sells a AgroMax line that is pretty cheap. The tent is well made (heavy fabric/Mylar inside, metal zippers, cover flaps over zippers, 8 ports, VERY strong frame). Mine is 4.5'W x 8'L x 6.5'H, has 2 x 4" ports, 6 x 6" or 8" ports. The 6" ports convert to 8" ports. $260.00 + shipping. I just checked and they're temporarily out of stock at their PA mail order warehouse, but you might check if they have a retail store in your area that has one in stock. They have several sizes.

Do you run your fans after lights out? My humidity was getting up to ~75%, I started running my fans for 30 mins after lights out, and 2x30min during lights out, never gets above 55% now.

As far as hanging the fan, can you put 4 drywall anchors in the ceiling and attach 2 ratchet straps to hang the fan from? Seen it work for heavier stuff than fans.

You don't have any ports on the ceiling of your tent that you can bring something through? If not, nevermind. Can't you just hang the fan from your tent's frame?

i really need to get this exhaust fan hung. im starting to get worried about height issues. and if i raise my lights i have to raise my fan. its connected right on the end of my lights. trying to keep the ducting as small as possible so it functions as best as possible.

or you could make a structure inside the tent to hold the fan up... Not exactly the way you want to do it, but where there is a will there's a way!

Shoot for 75 degrees, even if it means a ton more logistics, and a couple hundred dollars. 79 degrees sucks, and if your in the northern hemisphere it's going to go up in the next couple months by at least a few degrees. Besides that; maxing out your air exchange is as important as using the right nutes, and having enough light!

I'm running a room with 2x600, and 1x1k right now. I have 2 Maxx air Floor models. The first fan that comes thru the closet floor and can deliver 1250-3150 cfm. For exhaust my 600s each have a 400 cfm hydrofarm in-line fan, and my 1000 has a 720 hydrofarm. In addition I use the second Maxx Air to help exhaust everything thru what was the houses existing duct work. That room has it's own separate duct now, but in the winter I do run the duct back into the rest of my house to help with the heat bills! I also run lights at night ALWAYS! It's easier to get everything right with lower ambient temps. The last fan I have is just a little ten dollar oscillator to "mix it all up".

Oh always exhaust a little more than you intake.

i cranked my ballasts back to 1000w. and its above 75. i was told never above and have experienced to never go above 82-84. i am also going to run C02 soon. just to off set the high heats that are coming. i have good circulation. i am getting another exhaust fan as soon as i can afford it. but that will be for my scrubber. i do need to see about turning the ballasts back down to 600w, but i kinda wanna get 600w bulbs. right now, my major issue is light bleaching. i need to get my lights as high as i can. or turn the ballasts back down. i have pulled 100g off plants in 80+ temps. did it with my first grow last summer. i just think i need to rethink my vegging procedures. i may veg for too long or for too much vertical growth. i am going to have a hella of a time this summer.

Have you seen any DIY tents before? They're real easy to make with just some 2x2s and black and white poly. And you can make them whatever size you want them. I just finished a 10'x3.5' and it only cost me about $50-60 bucks. I like the white poly on the inside too instead of mylar cause mylar fucks with my eyes...

I've got 1800 watts in my tent, so my wattage and sq footage are about the same as yours and I use about 300 cfm on the inline fan cooling the reflectors and another 200 cfm fan at the top of the tent to exhaust the heat, but that one isn't constantly running.

i like your set up. i have given it little thought of designing and building my own tent. it may need to be done. im going to play it by ear and see what i can come up with. say, how tall are you plants? how tall are they in that pic?
