I use distilled water, is that a good choice? should i be using something else?
I use reverse osmosis water purchased out of a machine at the grocery store for 29 cents a gallon. It's almost as pure as distilled and a lot cheaper.

Once past the seedling stage, I use 10ml of Babybio mixed into 2L of plain tap water (Scottish!)

Works a treat up to flowering!

i just use water straight from the tap, its good to let it sit in an open container for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. I add in nutes every once and a while

I've got real hard water in my area, and I just bypass the softener, from the hose outside. Then I correct the pH with an acid ( like "pH Down" by General Hydroponics )
The hydro acid is often phosphoric acid, but I've been successful with vinegar in a pinch.
Like Bigol'Bong says, I let it sit for a while.

Thats interesting for me too, i never thought about that, it could be so much differences. I just use the ordanery water from the water tap. I never correct the ph or something like that, i just use it. I do it the same at my other plants at home too, and i never had problems with something. So i never think about changing something. But i think we have good water quality in my area so it should be no problem to handle it like that.
