What do you think of this 1000 watt hps?

I'm trying to get an hps soon. I can currently only afford one light to grow from veg through flower. I've been looking at this super cheap one and would appreciate your thoughts:

Im only growing 5 plants to start, but want room to expand. Theyre just not reaching their full potencial now. I made the noob mistake of gettting some 120 watt grow lights from Home Hepot & Miracle Grow soil. Their streching soo bad right now. I have bought some Black Gold Organic Soil to upgrade to soon. I hate not being able to nute now because of time release in Miracle Grow. I have some Jack's classic waiting for after the transplant.

Quick Question: How long after a soil transplant cant you start adding nutes?

this is very cheap. if you dont need any cool tubes or cool hoods then this will be good. My first light was one of these, (not this brand but style) and i occasionally noticed the hood conducted electricity and it would shock me when i touched it, and it carried to the chains that hung it up and they'd shock me too lol. but besides that it did its jobb

:lol: Your post had me cracking up... I just lost a few branches the other week when I was readjusting the chain in flip-flops on a damp floor post-watering. That old uncomfortable tingle...

These reflectors are pretty damn effective for how cheap they are. I run one during the cooler months of the year to help keep temps up. (The others are air-cooled.)

Depends on plants age or size personally I wait till either 2.5 weeks or when the plant hits the 4th node, then its top'd.

Are the plants the one in your avatar? Still babies? I didn't even see the last line of your post when I read it the first time...

Haha, had me laughing. Guess I'll have to get some rubber gloves.

They can go a couple of weeks without food after they come up. Just keep a watchful eye for them starting to go light green, then give them a light dose of veg nutes and start from there.
