I was wondering how much most DG's charge the people they grow for? How much per gram how much per oz and pound?

I've been curious about this myself.
There was really no mention of it in any of the paperwork.
It used to be that you could charge an hourly rate plus costs but I'd love to hear details from some experts myself.
I have a half dozen friends and fam that want a dg but I've been hesitant to take them on because I'm too compassionate for my own good sometimes.

I'm a DG for a family member. She doesn't smoke a lot, and is really specific to one strain. I just keep a few of her favs going all the time. N/C!

For all you people looking for a "DG" would you pay 4$ a gram for indoor quality and 2$ per gram for Greenhouse quality? for the indoor that works out to 1800per pound or 600 per month.
With that price you would also get a choice of whatever strain you want, you could visit the grow once a month to inspect your buds, and your 150grams would be shipped right to your door (pick it up depending on your location).
Also your 150 grams per month would be all the top nugs not one speck of shake.

Be carful, on advice from my lawyer. DO NOT charge by the weight, you can be charged with trafiking. Charge a monthly salary. You can only be compensated for your time and not on the weight of the cannabis. Charge a flat rate per plant, not the on dried flowers. Any other way puts you at risk. Best to get advice from a lawyer before you start selling cananbis.
In my opinion $1800/lbs isn't very compassionate. Max should be $100/oz

sorry, its illegal to sell canabis. Period. Unless your a licences producer. Heck it's even illegal to give cannabis away. Only way is to be a DG for 2 specific patients and even then you can't charge for the dried flowers. only for your time to cultivate the plants.

in my area, near the end of the MMAR; most patients got their meds free.. people were dying to get more and more scripts under their belt.
*it was shady on both sides though.. came to a point were 'sick' folks would get a script just to sell it to one of the DGs.
the oz a month was a drop a bucket for them to get another 25 plants in (to sell on the BM)
*that was the sad part.. people with small scripts were getting left in the cold due to greed.
i didn't know -what i'd consider- any truly compassionate growers though.. all the ones i know did it for profit. if it wasn't so lucrative; they couldn't have cared less for their patients.

Compassion doesn't pay the bills, unfortunately growing indoors is only getting more expensive...especially in ON. Most Medical Users I know cant afford to pay even $100/oz...so for all those people out there looking to be a DG, make sure you have a market for your product.

I get under the mmar that was a no go, but it seems they do not say you can not sell it to someone in the new program if they are registered to you, am I not getting that correct? It says it is illigal to sell or give it to someone if they are not registered with you as a DG. It seems being a DG in the new program is like being LP for one person.

In Legalese, that clearly means you can sell it to the person you are designated to grow it for. Not your time. Sell cannabis. Yes it is illegal to sell cannabis, just as it is illegal to grow and possess it, EXCEPT under the exemptions issued via the ACMPR/MMPR/MMAR etc, which this also applies to.

I agree...growing inside in Ontario is very pricey...especially if you do it right. Giving it away would quite costly. If you aren't selling out the back door how is giving it away beneficial? The only way to give it away is too sell elsewhere...not legal.

Well somebodies got to help pay the expense of producing it. To expect it for free is to expect the Dg to sell BM to cover the patients cost. So right @redi jedi you either sell bm or charge the patient.
Compassion is one thing, but buying someone else's meds for them to be able to obtain a BM license is also wrong. To me selling to the patient is less illegal than selling BM. Why shouldn't cost be covered? I'm not against the BM in any way just to clarify. Just pointing out the difference imo.
I know one thing. Asking someone to do something for you for free over and over and over again...rarely works.
