white rhino-great medicine for the insomniac and someone who needs to stimulate their appetite.
I agree as long as it is Mr. Nice Seeds Medicine Man, the real White Rhino. It's pretty difficult to come close to equaling the original, let alone topping it.

Brick, is that Jack Herer you mentioned the "accepted/best/original" JH? I've seen some other seed breeders selling Jack Herer for much lower prices. Should I assume those are rip-offs, or not the real deal? Is there somewhere I could go (Besides this thread) to find out this information?

So many strains I want to try... so little space.

A good place to research strains is http://en.seedfinder.eu/

When I first found the site there was roughly 1,400 or so strains and now it is up to 2410 different cannabis varieties. 2155 of them from 145 established breeders - linked and expanded with 77 pure local breeds, 34 clone-only strains and 144 various unknown or legendary varieties. .. and more are added fairly often.

Jack Herer Sensi Seeds Cup Nr.7 [1994] 1. Platz Cannabis Cup

Sensi Seeds - Jack Herer

This multiple Cannabis Cup Winner is undoubtedly one of the best types of marihuana in the cannabis world today. Named in honor of world famous global hemp activist and author of the most informative book on hemp and cannabis, `The Emperor Wears No Clothes`. Many years of extensive breeding and special selection gave way to this multiple Haze hybrid that will deliver good yields of heavy clustered, medium density buds glistening with juicy, resin coated Haze bracts that have a fresh and peppery, pungent Haze smell mixed with a hint of fruity skunk. Jack Herer has an award-winning flavor of strong peppered Haze spiced with a delicious dash of fruity acridness and the effects have a quick onset with a strong uplifting cerebral high and a giggly edge.

High Times Magazine: The bud was heavy with crystals and resin; the high was immediate and cerebral. An excellent strain.

Flowering: 50-70 days
Height: 150-180 cm
Yield: up to 125 gr

High Times tells about the lineage:
While Sensi say the exact lineage is a closely-guarded secret, it is accepted that Jack Herer is a 3-way hybrid of Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5 and Haze. The precise lineage is probably Haze x [Northern Lights #5 x (Northern Lights #5 x Skunk #1)] which suggests that Sensi began by selecting a male from their NL5 x SK1 seedline (AKA Shiva Skunk) and backcrossing him to the NL5 female cutting. As Sensi purchased Neville's breeding plants, they had both the Haze A and C males, so it is likely that they then chose a female NL5 x (NL5xSK1) plant and pollinated it with one of the Haze males to create Jack Herer., this would make Jack 50% Haze, 37.5% NL5 and 12.5% SK1. This gives Jack Herer a similar composition to Super Silver Haze and Mango Haze which are 50% Haze, 25% NL5 and 25% SK1.

Strain: Jack Herer
Breeder: Sensi Seeds
Location: indoor
Type: indica/sativa
Flowering: ~60 days
No feminized seeds.

Those are good additions. A couple of them I have never grown or even smoked but from what people I know have said and things I have read online they seem pretty worthy of mention.

I never paid much attention to the Underground Originals line but Oldtimes sounds interesting. It has a fairly interesting lineage.

Oldtimes
»»» ESB x ES

Thats not the right way to look at Ugorg lines.
Their as far from the dutch varieties as you can get....
Think of the name oltimes.
Oltimer1 (one of the skunk, haze workers of the 60-70-80's in cali,UK)
You might wanna research some of this.

The ES isnt todays moder Early Skunk. Its early skunk as in early Batch 1-2.
One of Oltimers best Skunk lines.

The Blueberry? . . .
At a guess a rework with old BBerry lines kept buy ugorg team.

Green House Seeds has a few decent strains, a few I would call 'value strains' that aren't uber-fantastic but what you get in relation for what you pay makes them a good value.

When it comes to the greatest successes of Green House Seeds they were Shantibaba's work, White Widow and White Rhino to mention two, and when he sold his share of Green House Seeds in the breakup his genetics, meaning his breeding stable, went with him and he opened up Mr. Nice Seeds and renamed his most famous strains. White Widow became Black Widow and White Rhino became Medicine Man. That left Green House Seeds without the original genetics to it's most famous strains and only able to sell knockoffs of them like other breeders do.

Since then Arjan has had some successes, even won a bit, but there was controversy attached, claims that judges were bribed etc. so his wins have been semi-tainted by the possibility of scandal. Super Lemon Haze gets a lot of attention but it is hermi-prone. It might be genetics and it might be because Arjan only makes feminized beans and all feminized beans are unstable to some degree, and it might be a combination of both.

If I were to use car lines to describe breeder quality and picked Hyundai as the bottom and Mercedes at the top, Green House Seeds would be about a Chrysler or maybe, if lucky, a Chevrolet. It's not the worst, but it sure as Hell is a long way from being the best.
Silly silly man. Hyundai> Chevy or Chrysler. lol Maybe in 1991 Hyundai was crap but now they give Toyota a run for the money. Yes I own a 2011 Sonata and also had a 2009 2006 2002 sonata. heh I also had a 1998 Tiburon that hauled little Hyundai ass and smoked all those Jap cars challenging me. lol Sorry Brick I am a Hyundai owner and I am offended. lol Ok carry on.

I just saw my neighbors son who currently owns my old '98 Tiburon and the thing still averages 30 miles a gallon at 210,000 miles. Other than the belts tires plugs filters ect the only other thing that was replaced is the alternator($40 on ebay). And that is a car from Massachusetts. I also have a 99 f150 with only 96,000 and I have had to replace almost everything. lol Hyundai needs to make a pickup too.

Oh yeah Greenhouse seeds. I have grown Kings Kush and Super Lemon Haze with no hermis. However, slh did not at all live up to the hype, actually liked kings kush better. People knock Nirvana but everything I tried was killer but I like skunk strains.

I Love Greenhouse. But recently I purchased the 5 pack of the colored seeds only 2 of the 5 germinated and they took over a week to do so. the other 3 have been in a damp paper towel for 2 weeks and still not cracked.

My advise is DO NOT BUY THE COLORED SEEDS, buy the regular seeds from Greenhouse and you'll be very happy.:blsmoke::peace:

Did you soak them in a glass of water before going into the towel or planting them. GHS says to soak em in water first to remove the coating and get some moisture into the seed.

It was basically the same deal when Shantibaba was part owner of Green House Seeds and Neville owned Green House Coffee Shop. They did the breeding, Arjan ran the sales/marketing. After his Cup wins Shantibaba grew tired of the hype and politics and all that went with Cup competitions and said no more .. Arjan wanted more because of the fame and fortune that went with them, paritally the fame he tried to claim for himself in regards to the strains even though he was only the sales & marketing guy. Egos and tempers flared and the breakup occurred. Shantibaba opened Mr. Nice seeds and renamed his old strains in an attempt to keep there from being any mistake on what was what, and also in the case of Medicine Man as a bit of a tribute to a fiend of his, and everyone else scrambled to make knockoffs in some way or another and used the original names for Shantibaba's most famous work, White Widow, White Rhino.

For the price The Church, TrainWreck, Big Bang and Lemon Skunk are not bad, I consider them to be fair values when you compare price to what you get, but they are not top genetics. The most recent Green House Cup winners I have not tried. I read too many times about Super Lemon Haze having a hermi problem for me to want to try it.
To bad about the Super lemon haze hermaphroditing. i was going to order it and now I won't. Damn!

I grew a whole pack of super lemon haze no hermies from it...The bubba kush i got from them is a heavy plant knock you out smell.arjans ultra haze 3 long flower time but good yield and good smoke..Taste wasnt all that but it was alright.Hawaiin snow long flower but good yield and smoke.white widow was great..Alot of greenhouse strains are good and my luck with them i had no hermies from any of them..besides they are great for the price imo...

Thanks Wyteberry, I will take a chance and get the seeds but flower right away. It would be horrifying to have a monster I vegged for 3 months hermie. This happened on a Jack Herer from MJS.NL I am sort of shell shocked still. Sounds like the strain is worth taking a chance on, all of the good qualities. Did it stink bad in flower?
