What do I do?

Here's the deal...

I started flowering about 8 days ago. I have a mini dwc setup and a stealth grow box I'm doing this in, so space is getting crowded. These strains are unknown cause they are the free seeds from the bank. I have one plant that has shot up about 6in over the rest in these 8 days. This morning I woke up late and find that the grew into my lights. It is a little crispy, but no permanent damage looks to be done. I can't keep raising my light because of this one plant. If I top it now will that ruin it, or is there some other way to control its growth? I've read about LSTing, and scrog, but didn't think any of that would be necessary for such a small grow. guess I was wrong.

thanks for the help

you should tie it back, not a complete LST

have they shown sex yet?

No, no signs of sex yet. Possibly, but this being my first grow I most likely won't know until it's got balls in my face.

And how exactly would go about tying it back. The stem is starting to get good size and I wouldn't want to break it.

Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated. I am learning so much.

just tie some string to it and bend it back gradually every day, thats essentially what LST is but if you go all out with the lst you could stress your plant into being a hermi. thats why you want to bend it back gradually

but hey i have another thought; this plant may end up being male. males tend to be the strongest fastest growing plants. if it does turn out to be a male tying it back will be a non issue as youll be scrapping it anyway

Yeah, I read that in the grow bible and had that in the back of my head as well. I appreciate the advice, and will put up a couple pics when my girl gets home with the camera. There is a huge height difference between the plants. The other to seem to be growing out just as much as they are tall, but not the other one. Just growing tall. Thanks again.

Just tie her down. I had one that grew almost a foot taller than the rest, I tied her down - slowly tightened it day by day, so she wouldn't break. Tied on the other side as well, so she doesn't pull herself out of the pot. You can barely see the twine on the left. Best to tie right before watering, she's a bit softer when she's thirsty. She was already in flower when I did this. They turn right back up to the light within an hour or so of tieing!:leaf:
