What differentiates a new grower to an experienced grower?

you answered your own question.
its experience that makes it the difference.

even if you follow a growers info to a T , something is bound to be a little different in some aspect.

its just what it is, its experience

a good example of this is
you get 1 recipe for a baking item,

i guarantee a new baker , or less experienced baker will have different results than someone who is a professional culinary baker regardless of both having the same recipe
its just literally experience with experience comes wisdom and you the experienced person just knows little tidbits and tricks
Hey Sunni, bit off topic. How come my profile pic has a little green thing on the top left corner? I've noticed some people have it and some don't? Cheers. I

You only use A&B? Next grow I'll use your medium and compare. I have a feeling straight coco won't have all the bacteria, micro-organisms + other essential things that soil has in it (Still need to read up on alot of this).

I'll take your advice, I'll have my journal ready, once the 3rd set of leaves grow in I'll start at a 1/4 strength recommended dose and build up see what works best. If it tolerates it I'll add in a bit more.

Can I add anything beforehand to kick-start the little seedlings? The coco scares me, because It has nothing in it. The babys are only getting water, and light.

I'll follow your grow guide for sure!
Yeah, personally I don't see the need for additives/extras, nothing against them but I can get close to 1 oz per gallon without them with decent producing strains like Blue Dream, good enough for me. Haven't used coco, I'd spend some time in the forums looking around and posting questions, lots of folks in here that grow in coco and could offer some tips. I understand it's similar to growing in similar soiless medium like pro-mix so I'd think I'd want to start feeding early in low doses. I really like the mix of triple-mix and hp pro-mix indoor, I can put seeds & clones straight into it, not too hot but enough to carry them for a few weeks with the odd low feed if needed in veg. In flowering it's a good medium, no packing, good water retention. Once they've been in flowering for a few weeks there's not much left in the soil so they get their nutrients from the feedings. Once I got it dialed in it's one of the few things I haven't changed, been using it for about 3 years. Lots of other things to play with and learn, it's a never ending hobby, always something new to learn :)

Perfect! I'll integrate a few of these methods into my grows at a later date! Thanks for the solid advice mah dude :peace:

I've got a long way ahead before I can fully understand the fundamentals of a plant, it's a learning curve for me. Always good to learn something new :)

Agreed on most of these points, Canna's coco line is solid and I've done my last 3 or 4 runs with only A + B + tapwater and then some powdered Koolbloom in the last few weeks of flower. Excellent yields and quality all around, no complaints. Simple is best in nearly every case.

I would watch pushing P and K. Its a gimmick. Cannabis is like any other plant. No need for special additives.

The plant will do better with a well rounded fert. Something with close ratios like a 5-5-5 or 10-10-10. The ratio can be off a point or two. Also make sure it has micros.

That's all that's needed. A good source of macro and micro nutes.
