A couple three town trips ago, I found a pair of Magellan Outdoors zip-leg pants, then the next trip a nice shirt from the same company. The shirt is my regular walking shirt now. Normal Goodwill pricing.
But. . . . . . . . last week we got hit by lightning. When it knocked the meter off the house, I knew it was going to be bad. It got the cordless phones and answering machine, the modem, two Dish Network Joeys, and the pump. I replace the pressure switch and controller for just under two hundred bucks. But the strike had busted the casing because silt clogged my filters right away. I am so used to dealing with hurricanes, that I thought our deductible was $10K and a new well cost 9.5K. But I was very happy to learn that it is only 2.5K for stuff like this. No fuss at all from the insurance folks. We sent pictures of the dirty water running and got quotes from a couple of well drillers. (they got started this morning) And they are going to pay for the phones and pump parts I bought before I knew it had to be replaced. I will keep the old well, running all the garden spigots off it. I just have to buy sprinklers with larger holes.
