What deficiency?

Got a slight deficiency taking place - thinking nitrogen but any suggestions??

May have nute fed a day or two later than normal which is what I'm attributing it to but again, wanted to get some other opinions.

Seems to be only the upper fan leaves or very bottom large fan leaves.

Week 3 of flower
FF Ocean Forest
FF Big 3 nutes
Cal Mag
Microbe Brew
Organic Kelp

Look healthy! I’d say the yellow is natural, it’s not off the charts and it’s on the lower old leaves getting less light.

Just the natural maturity process. These plants live to die in 1 cycle. So it makes little sense for it to have maximum green foliage a few weeks before its peril :)

Looking good I though!

Ahhh, that's refreshing! Lol

Thanks Nutty!

I just figured it was a bit early for yellowing to occur being that I'm only in week 3 but the sound advice is most appreciated!! bongsmilie

Np!

Have you grown the strain before? Looks like a hybrid with fairly high indica so I’m guessing 8-9 week flower?

Just keep an eye on it. Any speeding up of the yellowing isn’t good. But if it’s gradual and exclusive to the shaded bottom leaves then that’s fine.

The plant will munch those leaves since it has much more foliage above it receiving more light. It’s essentially economising itself :)

Hi Matt...the plant just finushed stretch too which puts vegetative nutrient demands on the plants...if you're looking for a reason.

Some guys keep grow nutes going till stretch ends.

What light and how close is it?
Ive got a 3k watt led thats probably about 700 equivalent and another 1k ked that's probably about 300 equivalent.

It's about a foot above maybe a little more. I've moved up seveal times in the last coupke weeks of stretching.

I've not grown this strain. I have 2 going at the moment.. 1 MK ultra and 1 (pictured) Gorilla Glue.

It's def indica dominant hybrid haha you know your stuff!

Def keeping an eye on it and it was pretty sudden. I was a day or 2 late feeding and wondering if that is a culprit.

I actually tied 2 main colas (topped plant during veg) so some others could catch up and 2 or 3 days later there's yellowing.. Weird as that part of the plant was getting EXTRA light than it was previously..

You think I should pull the yellow leaves or maybe wait for them to bounce back??

Thanks again for chiming in!!

Thanks for the response!

I've actually been keeping veg nutes going every other water per FF feed schedule. Found it odd to say the least..

My other girl that's a difft strain is healthy/all green throughout.

So 1000w at the wall total?
You probably want them 2ft above plants.

Yes I suspect too it’s to do with missing a feed. They are creating a lot of new growth with requires lots of N. Since it didn’t have enough in the soil it took it from a shaded leaf, as I said, just economising itself.

Leave them until they are about 10% green and showing no brown. If they brown pull em. Don’t want any decaying matter. But if yellow/green it’s fine. The plant will just eat them :)

Regarding tying them up. It happened at the same time you delayed a feed. Leading to a coincidence of timings. Just resume the feeding I say, all is well.

It’s good to keep growth nutes during the stretch. Then switch to bloom once it’s settled. It needs the N - plus the extra P&K in the bloom nutes can trigger early flowering if given too soon.

Solid on all fronts. Thanks again!!

How long have you been growing? Do you have any journals/pics of some of your crops? Would love to check them out. What's your fav strain?? Feels like 50 questions lol but this blue haze tincture from last harvest has me curious :weed:

You know I’ve only been research/growing for the past 7 years. But in that time I’ve only grown 5 plants on 3 separate occasions.

I just love to learn about them. Last one really annoyed me. Was perfect until the self watering system failed while I was on holiday. They went 5 days without water when they needed every 2 so came back to some very sad plants. Saved one. I do have some pics up here.. try searching Kali Mist.

Favourite so far is Kali Mist from serious seeds, 90% sativa. Found she’s kinda sensitive to light but other than that straight forward.

Here’s a wee experiment I’ve got going. 2 Durban poison autos which have just turned 3 weeks.

They’ve experience 7c when they just hatched and before during germination. Took 5 days to break the soil. I have a suspicion that if the plant is exposed to cold conditions during germination and young growth. It’ll learn to cope with it in the future. They started off with purple purple tips - one has outgrown it (which oddly was more purple than the other one) the other still has it on the newest growth.

Lows of about 14c atm. Highs of 25-30

The camera angle makes it look more yellow than it actually is. Going to give first feed on next watering.
