i know that the kush mountain range ,is where kush strains theoretically come from.but what traits are present in a kush strain not present or as pronounced in other non kuskh strains?its very unclear to me.

I only know of Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. Every other name is clever marketing. So a Kush is any plant the grower happened to call it one. You could just as well call your plants Lemon Dope, Blueberry Kali, or Super Mango Death. Actually don't use that last one, I kind of like it.

The thing about "Kush" is it can mean A lot of things. The Hindu Kush mountains kind of blend into the Himalayas. When growers took there strains from the flatlands of India, they took them up into the Hindu Kush. This is what caused Indicas to form. You need a shorter flowering time in the mountains, because winter comes earlier. It also can't be as tall as a Sativa due to the high winds that can occur on the side of a mountain.
