what causes bud to mature too early?

I am three weeks into flowering and my plants aren't done yet but I have one plant closest to my door that the hairs are starting to turn orange already at the tips! Could a possibe light leak be causing this one plant to mature too early?

That does seem a bit early, but you'll see orange hairs and then new white ones usually.

I've heard that early orange pistils could be pollination, but I can't vouch for that

ill tell you around week 4-5 all of my hairs turned brown/orange....i thought i nute burned or a ph problem.....now im having little new white ones pull outta nowhere in week 6-7...trics where clear back then, and still clear now...thats what i have to watch...TRUST ME WHEN I SAW THAT I PANICED..everythings cool now :) just keep your eye on the crystals.....and watch your buds grow bigger?

In my experience, the buds that receive the least amount of light die back the fastest.

I hate the whole "top buds mature faster then lower ones"


I got over 1000 pictures that proves that statement incorrect.



for example my skunk #1 right now 7 weeks in, has 4 main colas, none of which have a red or orange hair. But at week 4 all my lower buds on the same plant start to die back.

and it isnt just this strain, all mine do it, and always have.


popimp's got it though...trichs are where the truth lies.

Yeah, light leak would make it not flower. Potpimp's right, look for the trichs, I've gotten orange hairs in week 2 or 3 and the trichs are clear as a friggin window. If you wanna really check go on ebay and get one of these

Well the first is actually me checking to see if I FIM'd right but you get my drift.
