What can you do if it's gotten too dry after putting in jar?

Checked jars today. One jar that wasn't very full has gotten rather crispy. What can I do? Is there a safe method to rehydrate and go a little backwards to continue the curing? It's a bit harsh still.

Search Al B. Fuct's posts.. I think he said in one of fdd's threads that he uses moist paper towels to rehydrate buds that are too dry.

just take a dime piece of paper towel wet it throw it in the jar. the buds will absorb the water. do it over it wasnt enough

A little orange peel works, a fresh fan leaf, a little wet paper towel, ect.

Thanks, everybody - I just put a bit of wet (but not drippy) papertowel in a steel tiny tea strainer (so it wouldn't touch the bud), which seemed to be a good way to do it. I didn't know if there might be another way besides the "traditional" humidifier methods. God knows I've done all of the above with misc. stashes.

you could also use an old tobacco tub that has the little songe on the lid.. just remove that and put it on the lid of the jar with some water in it.. or just switch the bud to the tobacco tub

Yeah, I should find one of those...I live in BFE, so that will have to be a special expedition into town.

I think you could also just use one of those florist's "frogs", a block of green foam that holds water and holds its shape. I'm not sure, but I think that's what they use in humidors.

I have some of that flower foam - could easily make an insert for a jar top. +rep for being McGyver.

try putting iceburg lettuce in the jar thats to dry.

i\d rather go with a spunge and very little water.. because remember guys when something like a leaf or lettuce dies it causes mold.. and it only takes one spore to start the rot. i wouldn't risk it if it was me i'd just use plain water and a spunge or paper towel...

Ya can get it moist again but it will not cure.

putting the peels of fruit is a great way to bring buds back to life. orange or lemon peels work great. just peel them and put the peels in with your bud for a day or two. it will fluff and recesitate your stuff. it will also add some weight and add a delightful fruity taste! works great on crappy weed even if its not super dry

i don't care for the taste or smell the weed gets from using citrus peels. what i started doing is leaving a couple of very tiny useless buds on the plant after i chop, and i set it aside. once cure time comes (usually around a week later), if any of the bud is too dry in the jars i snip off a "fresh" bud (which by this time is fairly dry but still "fresh") leaf and all and toss that in. the jar may need a bit of babysiting depending on how much bud went in and how wet it was, but using a peice of actual bud doesn't give the herb that weird "fucked with" smell and taste. mold should not be a problem. if the buds in the jar are really that dry they will slowly suck the moisture out of the fresh bud and the fresh bud will dry in there. takes about 3 days to get to that point. it's important to use small peices of fresh bud so the chlorophyll doesn't take over, but that's how i've been doing it and i like the results.

Careful when it comes to rehydrating your buds!! Overdoing it will give them a loss in taste and smell, a loss in density, and greatly increases chances of mold! I used the moist paper towel method coming back from Denver, lost an entire jar of Hashplant, and my Grape Ape smelled like nothing :'(
