What businesses use a lot of electricity?

i have been debating what ummm business to open that would use as much electricity as possible... ill be opening it in a warehouse type setting, and there wont be much foot traffic...

so far im thinking

custom welding company,
a web hosting company that has a lot of servers,
a small bottled water company that uses reverse osmosis to provide the best quality bottled water

give me some ideas

ya i wanna use it as a front for other hobbies that use a lot of electricity..

i like the idea of a bottled water company that uses atmospheric water generators, lots of electricity use, lots of water use for cooling... seems good

would it be obvious if u had like a garden shop? grow flowers and everthing and sell them. grow the weed n the back. ull have all the supplies u need for the weed.

a garden shop that uses 10k worth of lighting and has a 1000 dollar + electric bill a month is not exactly the smartest thing i can think of..

Manufacturing Fabrication, CNC shop... They run ultramegawatts of electricity around the clock, receive very little foot/vehicle traffic.

If you're looking for a front... CNC Fabrication shop = a good cover.

thats what im talkin about.. i would just need some phony equip in case i ever had to prove it was legit.. and its something i can do by myself and not have to have a bunch of employees

dude dont trip... CNC shops basically run on design layouts... if you outsourced fabrication designs you could run an entire cnc shop by yourself...

the equipment is really expensive, so you might just want some shit that LOOKs like it might belong... maybe a couple of drill presses, large work benches, etc...

the large cnc equipment costs tens of thousands of dollars... so I would think about making a bullshit "Front office area" and just keeping the door locked 24/7

also might help to set up a fake website, etc...

But also, computer repair shops run a lot of watts... maybe that would be easier, you can find beat up looking computers on the cheap over at craigslist, just stack them on shelves in the "front office area" and do your dirty work behind the wall...

but if you do any of that front office shit.... make sure that youre not running air into the office, as it will be a dead giveaway when the smell escapes (which it might)....


also, you will want to seal up your roll up door (most warehouse style buildings have these doors for moving shit into trucks)... yadda yadda yadda... you know wtf you're doing, you just have to do it now :)

computer repair shop.. i like that idea a lot.. no need for osha or any other agencies to come in and inspect working conditions or equipment, and it would be easy to write off a bunch of power usage.. i just gotta find the right landlord and it will be straight

anyone remember the thread where FDD's friend had a shop in one of those rent-a-shop strips and heard fans in the shop next door. turns out the roll up door wasnt locked and they rolled it up to find a shitload of plants.

i think it was a FDD thread anyway.

the location is key, the variables can be worked out pretty easily, but if i can find a stand alone warehouse/office gig in semi urban development area with a property management company it will be almost no problems.. just wanna make sure i have all my i's dotted and t's crossed if im gonna do this kind of endeavor
