what are your pre-harvest practices?

I've heard everything from flushing with ice water to giving a 24 hour dark period to not watering last couple days...

What do you guys do (if anything at all) right before harvesting? Im thinking about a dark period tomorrow for my small clone before i harvest her in the next couple days...just for the fuck of it to see what happens lol...her mother is too big to move and i can compare

i was thinking about this today...people say a dark period can make it make more resin...i think that's bs..but that's just me..
i tend to stop watering like 4 days before
stop feeding like 2 weeks before that...

I did a 24 hour dark period on the last plant I pulled. I pulled it out with the plug and put the whole thing into the barn for a day before I shook off and sprayed off the dirt. I examined it with a scope and it looked about the same. Also drying it upright. Not noticing much diff but if it smokes like a dream, I will report it.

The darkness is not for resin it's for
The calyx to swell. By the time your plant reaches 4 weeks 80% of the buds have come up the other month is basically waiting for them to swell. Your plant needs carbs to help with resin productiOn and swelling. Humic acids also help. Good mature weed is always good quality no matter the strain. People just get ahead and 80% of the time pull 2 weeks early. The more swell they are the more trics you'll have on the area. Remember that your weed will shrink 2/3 and most of the time will look done and really only need a week or two. Darkness helps ripe when you are in the final stages. And really won't help if you are in week 6. Wait to the 8-9 week to darken and feed em plenty of carbs with potassium .

Preflush then stop watering in the final days. GGood growing

Good info, mariapastor - I'l check the calyxes. It was at week 9 so pretty done. I have 9 more plants I can do that with. (With 10 of my plants, I cut the bottoms of the containers out and sunk them.) I'll try another with a 24-hour dark period, maybe take some pics to help me see any diff. I tend to pull late so I don't know if they will show much benefit from a dark period or if it might make them overripen. Well, extra plants this year so more experiments...
