What are your nute PPM levels everyone?

Would all you hydro growers out there post what kind of nutes you guys use? And also, can u post what ppm ranges that u keep for the different stages of plant growth. Pics would be great too. Im new to the hydro thing and would like to get a general idea of what everyone elses PPMs run. Here is a link of my current hydro grow. tips or suggestions are appreciated. https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/84993-ice-plants-aeroflo-1st-try.html

I have heard start low like 1/8 of what the bottle tells you for you age plant. Now with a PPM watch and see are the plant drinking more water (ppm's will go up) or are they drinking the nutes (ppm's will go down). If you start to see burns from the nutes flush or add water to delute.

now with that said Iam only about 1 month into DWC myself but that is the info I have found and makes sence.

Currently my (2) 25 day old plants from seeds have 100ppm of foxfarm big grow/big bloom, and the plants are drinking more water then nutes so I watered down the nutes by adding 1 gallon distilled/phed water droping the ppm to 90. The strain that iam growing is easy to burn so iam going to play it safe the whole way.

Hope this helps and I wish I could remember the persons name that passed this info on to me.

take care and good luck. :joint:

High fatty..

Lucas formula: Gen Hydro - ML/GAL:
no GROW(0) MICRO(8) BLOOM(16).. = ec 2.0/1000ppm
I use 1ml/gal cal/mag also but but without it I get Mag defficency(<<?? deffiencies?) ec 2.2/1100ppm

Lucas says 0-8-16 ml/gal is all they need.. no need to flush.. feed thru to hrvest..
gives them 2 more weeks to bulk up.. no need for plant roids... I stop giving them the cal/mag about 1 week before the cut.. it has too much N.... no metalic taste...

Temps are important too.

I use general hydroponics nutes with some other additives... I start my ppm's about 500-600 and am up to 900-1000 by the time flower starts. By the end I'm probably up to around 1200-1300.

Advanced Nutrients 850 ppm in 1 1/2 week of flower...for veg I start at 300 ppm and end around 700-800. I've tried ramping it up more but I always get burn. My system right now usually gets the tips a little whitish like the start or nute burn but then I pull em back just a hair.

i use fox farms trio, grow big, tiger bloom and big bloom. i also use some techna fklora's sugar daddy, epsom salts and molasses. it really doesnt matter what nutrients i use i always start my seddlings and clones with no nutes. then go up to 200 ppms. for a large healthy vegging plant i stay between 400 - 600 ppms, and for a flowering momma i go between 700 and 900 usually. that is a 500x scale from e.c some plants are different and can take more or less, always start on the low end and work your way up. ( i have grown plants that can take up to 1200 ppm on the 500x scale

if your running the aero, don't be greedy. Better to be safe than sorry.
start low around 500 week 1 and work up to 1000 week 4. Some strains can take more than others, but maxing out around 1000 is safe for majority. Remember that with food constantly available, the ppm don't have to be that high.
Are you using tap water, or RO?

Unfortunately I am using store bought RO water now. I need to get my own filter some time. Buying all this water is getting expensive. Anyone know where i can get a cheap RO filter?

All of these PPM measurements are great and all, but a conversion factor listed with them would help..

Using AN Sensi 1&2 I max out at 1800 ppm at the 5th week of flower and bring back down to flush. Never any burning.

Botanicare Nutrients:
126ML Cal-Mag Plus
180ML Liquid Karma
540ML Pure Bend Pro Bloom

I run 2900 PPM all the way through the stretch then back down to 2400 PPM around 4 weeks flower. I flush with plain water the last two weeks.

And before you say that's too high, look at the photo. Do these plants looked burned to you?

1000 ppm = 1.42 ec
500 ppm = .71 ec

2900 ppm still amazes me. What is the ppm of your tap water? if your using tap.

Just mixed some botaincare 800ml of pro bloom and 400 ml of karma in a 40 gal rez and got 1000ppm (with tap water at 260ppm)

it's just amazing.

why do you drop ppm during the phase when you can give the most aggressive feeding? That doesn't make sense.

Flushing/straight for 2 weeks is entirely too long for aero. They still eat.

4th week of veg, 2 more weeks to go before flowering

I use GH nutes with lucas formula in my 12.5 gal DWC bubblers. Here's my current recipe.

9 gal walmart distilled water (0 ppm)
45 mL GH Micro (5 mL/gal)
90 mL GH Bloom (10 mL/gal)
9 mL SuperThrive (1 mL/gal)
72 mL Hygrozyme (8 mL/gal)
Pinch of roots oreganum XL
6.5 mL pH up

Resulting solution is consistently 610 ppm and 5.6 pH
pH constantly becomes more basic, I usually have to pH down once a day

If you have a tds meter,
then the reading should be in parts per million.

If you are using old world technology,
then you will need a conversion factor
to translate E.C. into PPM.

There are only two conversion factors.

One is 700 and the other is 500.

This means that you can mutliply your electro conductivity number
by the conversion factor and get an approximate estimate of the tds

If your EC is .8
then you would have a tds of 400,
if your conversion factor is 500

If your EC is .8 and your conversion factor is 700,
then your tds would be 560

Most of us use meters that are more accurate,
than just to the closest 100th of a part per million.

My $90 Milwaukee Sm104,
reads tds
to plus or minus
10 parts per million.

EC meters are not giving you much information,
no matter that type, or how much they cost.

The number still represents
the amount of electrical current
than your salty nutes
will conduct.

There are many things in your nutrients
that will not be represented by this number,
because they do not conduct electrical current.

Flushing/straight for 2 weeks is entirely too long for aero. They still eat.
At 7 weeks the buds are not putting on much weight. They are mostly just ripening at that point. The pistils start turning brown and new growth stops. Having your nutrients at 2900 the last week before flushing is overkill.

First I tried Clearex for 5 days straight. The bud tasted shitty.

I used to run 2900 PPM all the way to flush but after two weeks of flushing the leaves weren't even starting to turn yellow. I could still taste small amount of nutes. There is so much stored up nutes in the roots and plant they could go a month on just plain water. Earl did a 6 week flush on a White Widow plant and it was still alive and kicking (right on Earl!).

They really like the high PPM during the initial flowering stretch. Once they level off, 2400 PPM works well.

Two weeks is barley enough time for a decent flush when you are running as high a PPM as I do. You can't rush a flush! I'm also running a 9 week flower cycle. Most guys only run 8 weeks.

The whole flushing thing is over debated. I learned my lesson 14 years ago while using fish emulsion right up until harvest. My bud tasted like I was smoking fish ass! I'll never forget the taste...

I may even try one of your super long flushes one of these times Earl. It sounds like the bomb!

All of my latest crops spend 3 weeks in the cloner and 3 weeks in veg. They are going into flower at about 18" high. I can't go any taller because my lights are just about max height now. I even lowered my systems to give me more plant height.

You run CO2 Earl?
