Just started Marvel TV's The Punisher. I've always loved the comic, and Jon Bernthal does a great job in the role of Frank Castle. He's much smaller than the comic book character, kinda has a Michael Keaton Batman thing going on. What he lacks in size he makes up for in crazy. It's very violent, a la Preacher, and big name stars are just dying off without warning. I like when shows do that, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Lovin' it so far...

Both seasons are good, and different enough not to be rinse and repeat.

Jon Bernthal always seems to do a good job of playing his character, loved his role in Fury.

I also remember that the comic book character was much larger, and he worked out in his apartment a lot, doing shit like one handed push ups with a full rack of plates on a bar in the other hand.

Yep. First time I saw him was in the role of Shane in The Walking Dead's first two seasons (which were the best, imo). Also good in the recent murder/mystery flick, Wind River. This Punisher role was made for him, as besides being a good action star, he's got this quirky, dark sense of humor that the comics didn't. I love his former NSA sidekick, they have a cool chemistry together...

This a bit macabre it reminds me of the first time I saw my wife's library.

Her shelves were full of murder books. Not just mysteries but most were true tales of
serial killers like Aileen Wuornos, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, The Green River Killer Gary Ridgway
and more than a few others.

I asked her if there was something she wanted to discuss when I saw them.
She asked "Why, are you scared?"

My reply, "A lesser man might be, I'm just getting interested."

My wife is into that sort of stuff too. Although she doesn't read as much anymore. Now it's true crime dramas on TV. About two minutes of which is my signal to go for a hike.

I fell into watching Cobra Kai, a satirical dark comedy about what became of the lives of Daniel and Johnny from the Karate Kid movies. While I didn't know what to expect, it is surprisingly okay. Good job of recreating that 80's cheese, very tongue-in-cheek. Kinda makes it all work. Not great literature, but a fun way to pass the evening whilst lifted...

I binge watched umbrella academy on netflix this weekend... really fun series. I'm not a fan of super hero shows, they've been done to death, but this surprised me.

Weird to see Kate Walsh playing an old lady and Ellen Page is always awesome.

subbed to cbs all access to check out star trek discovery....
the show is awesome, cbs all access is pretty disappointing. i plan on paying for it every three months or so and binge watching star trek, and big bang theory, about all that's on the whole thing that i give a shit about.
hard to say anything about the show without spoiling the shit out of it....
it's about the klingon war, the dark alternate universe, interstellar mushrooms, and Spock's step sister....oh, and the Hottest Milf on tv, Michelle Yeoh....just a little spoilage....

I can’t watch that show anymore. I admit I used to though. A bunch of “game changers” that don’t end up being shit lmao.
That show is the king of creating suspence, or trying to.
When I was evacutated at my friends house for that first month, my buddies were watching it, i was drunk, and I kept repeating “game changer, game changer”. My one buddy had to turn it off and they watched it after i hit the sack :-D

Night Crawler is about a month out from starting the CDT, the third leg of his Triple Crown. So he's dropping the occasional gear video, Crawler style. "these shoes are like walking on a cloud of titties."

I was going through Scorsese's filmography, and realized I hadn't seen Shutter Island. It was enjoyable, and DiCaprio and Kingsley's performances were really good. The writing was the weak point, it wasn't good enough to hide what was really going on past half way through. The plot was formulaic, but the direction (of course), music and acting made it worth watching. I'm also watching Sarah Silverman's new talk show, 'I Love You, America!' She's really out of her mind, I so enjoy her. Still sexy, too...
