What are these, and how to get rid of?

I’m not exactly starting seedlings of weed, however I tend to get this problem eventually with cloning as well using those jiffy pellets, wet paper towel germinating seeds (If takes longer times like example onions)

I get these small crawling bugs, they seem white in colour, as you dig down in some of these you’ll find even more as they stay away from the surface some of the time. However they are seen on the surface to which is how I’m aware they’re there.

These are in a small tub with wet perlite and a light above, to keep humidity up.

What are they?
How do I get rid of them? And stop them from always coming back?

Is this the beginning of how fungus gnats start?

I’ve had this problem with jiffy pellets and also peat moss kinda deal similar to jiffy pellets but in a bag and you make your own seed starters.

I have also used H2o2 3% and sprayed them, hoping it helps kill/burn them off, doesn’t work.

Any help is appreciated thanks.

get your self a yellow plastic cup, rub it with vaseline and put it on top.........if it is gnats, they'll go right to it and get stuck and die.......

Normally they wouldn’t get past this stage, I notice them, I take the seedlings that sprouted or taken root and put them in hydroponics, or replant them and they shouldn’t happen to move to the new pots and the problem doesnt come back. So it’s just my seedling stages.

I think your describing springtails, they also jump like motherfuckers. Perfectly natural and they dissapear with better wet dry cycles as they cant live without water in our grow rooms. Harmless and a sign of good soil.

I have these a lot of the year and common in many others grows.

Not sure but you can check this easily as not much else like springtails :-)
