Babygro is right about the environmental factors causing hermies, and I've seen that once in a while, and it causes a few seeds, and not much more, and future crops of the same strain don't have problems. But the hermies that you have to watch out for are the genetic ones. It will be a female plant that also has male flowers all over it too. It will end up being totally seeded, and all plants around it will be too. It's plants like those that cause everyone to watch for hermies.

A male flower in a bud will almost always be yellow. When you see a piece of yellow growth amongst the white hairs, inspect it closely.

How lucky can I get? beginners luck I guess. First grow, and out of four plants, all four are females! The fourth took a while to show, but this morning I saw two white hairs pop out of one of the internode growths. Very excited! How long does the flowering to harvest usualy take?:blsmoke:
Good job, warm! If your luck is running this good, time to hit a casino and score some $$'s!! Keep us posted on your ladies...

well, day 15 on flowering, and I think that I have pushed my four ladies a little farther than they were ready to go. cuz I've never had plants before, I was totaly unprepared. I started the seeds pretty much just to see what would happen. I got them from good smoke. As they grew, I kept improvising; clip on lights, (no ballast) no fertilizer, no measuring instruments (moisture, temp, ph). This morning, the biggest was the saddest, the sun leaves were curled down, so far down that they were touching the center stem. They looked like they were crying. never seen them like this before. I have ordered a ballast and ferts, just waiting now. I hope it won't be too late.

What kind of light?? Sounds like what you are using is heat stressing the leaves. Get a cfl, if you don't have one already; if it's a standard incandesent light socket, you can use in a clip on. Good luck!

I currently have 4 cfls in the clip on lights. But wait! Great news! The ballast has just arrived! So I have sent my husband and father in law over to our new house to fix up the girls new room. we have to move them anyway, might as well do it tonight. And thank goodness that my husband and his dad are electricians, so they can hardwire a makeshift socket/reflector to go with the ballast. We got a 400w switchable from 120 to 240, and from mh to hps. but its nice to be able to make stuff for the sake of saving money. I wish that I could be involved too, but our plants aren't our only babies I take care of.;) ;)
