What are some symtoms of a plant being Rootbound

Plants being root bound is not an issue that will affect 90% of the growers here.

Room temp & light volume will effect bud size way more than a root system that cant spread out any more.
75-80 dgrees....400 watt hps....100 watts of t5 supplemental lighting.......Buds look the same as a week ago:confused:

Your temp is ok, i'd try to keep it closer to 75 rather than 80 but either way its not a bad temp, your light is perfect for your grow op.

Can you post a pic of one of the plants along with how many day's its been in flower ?

It's tomorrow, heres the pics........This plant has been tied down to curtail upward growth....the grow space is 3 1/2 feet wide and 3 feet deep....as you can see it is taking up the entire area.....plant is about 3 1/2 feet tall despite being tied down.....this is all growing out of a two gallon pot filled with hydroton rock....On a constant drip while lights are on and no water at night.

Its my first grow and I read that a plant will double in size during flowering....so I figured if this plant doubled in size, I'd be ok.....This is the plant 27 days ago

Ummm......I think it quadrupled....Its way bigger than I planned on

im not really shure but could it be that you need to pick the fan/shade leaves off ,or thin it out.looks that the leaves are robbing nutes, the flower soaks the light but the fan/shade leaves are blocking the light, the flower is trying too fight the leaves for light, and thus using nessary energy that can be used for bigger flowers.

Those look like every sativa bud iv'e ever grown, none of them got super huge except the cola and it took a looooooooong time for any color changes for five weeks into flowering those look good to me.

Wow thats a bush, sucker looks healthy as hell.

The buds look normal size to me compared to where mine were at around the same time,it took mine forever,i wouldnt trim any leaves or worry about anything being wrong with it,you've got another month for sure.

Looks to me like you got hold of a very slow growing strain is all.

i have the same bucket system and had a 6ft plant with a 3ft cola the roots formed around the holes there is no way it is root bound but like they said you need to trim the plants and thin them out so the light will do its job!!

Well that makes me feel a lot better...I was really worried about the plant being way too big for a 2 gallon pot......If the buds on this plant fill out I could see pulling 4 oz's....not bad for my first plant....hell I'd be happy with 2 oz's

Update.....My baby had an explosion of new bud growth......I started this thread asking about how to tie plants down to stop upward growth......I just had to tie some of the branches up because the buds are to big for the branch to support them and they were reaching for the floor......I think this is a good problem to have...Tooooo much bud, not enough branch:)
