What are some of the top Auto Flower strains to try out..

I am planning to start an auto flower grow and was wondering what are some of the best seeds to obtain. I'm going to buy the seeds along with the aTTitude 420 promotions.

In terms of:
1. Yield
2. Less smell
3. Potency

Are you growing outdoors?
Otherwise, I think you are better off with reg/fem seeds. You can flip the lights & flower when you want. In addition, in general most auto strains are less potent that reg/fem.

I stole this from another post, and I kept it as a good reference:
(Regular plants) will finish flowering in the same amount of time as an auto. autos are only useful outdoors. If your doing outdoors though go with paradise seeds or dna.. they have they best autos.

I have grown autos both indoors and outdoors. I would never grow them indoors again. If I ever had the chance to grow outdoors again I would grow them for sure. I am actually considering some guerilla spots with them.

Strains I've grown. Lowlife Auto-Ak 47, Lowryder Easy Ryder, Barney's Pineapple Express Auto, Greenhouse Seeds Super Critical Auto.

The reason I wouldn't grow them indoors again is that they just are too much electric cost for what is always in my experience inferior weed. Not saying you can't get good weed from them - I have - but if you can get a regular strain (and by that I also mean fem, just not auto flowering) that the auto is based on it will always be better than the auto version. This is based on experience. I can see the rationale behind people throwing one or two in a veg room so that smokeable bud is available whilst a regular crop is prepared for flowering; but this is not something I am interested in, so I won't be doing it. Each to their own though.

I would grow them outdoors again though as they guarantee you will get a crop if you live in areas where frosts or high autumn (fall) humidity can scupper regular plants. They work best in full sunlight, the most they can get. In shadier areas the yield will likely suffer.

The best strain for me was the Auto-Ak47 from Lowryder - 2 phenos I saw, an indica which was the best (berry fruit taste, nice smell and nice mellowing effect), and a sativa which I didn't really grow properly. The Easy Ryder comes a close second to that. Seemed like more consistency to the phenos, all mine were based around a more hybrid expression of the AK - lovely smell and taste, but once again a fairly mild mellowing effect).

The pineapple express were pretty ordinary. Lower yielding and very mild effect. Nice smell though.

I made a mistake on the Super Critical's by adding too much bat guano to the soil. Two went almost black. Lovely smell and taste though - and a pretty strong stone actually, maybe the strongest of the lot; but then I prefer a high to a stone.
