What Are People's Point of View On Buddhism As a Way of Life?

I am really interested in people opinions and i cant wait to see what you have to say...

In my opinion i believe that Buddhism is a way of life, of course it is not for everyone. But the main goal in life or at least mine would be to reach enlightenment...

Peace to all... and happiness :)

I think Buddhism is a beautiful and powerful way to live.
By studying Buddism and practicing meditation there is a gradual happiness increase because you learn how to be a happier human beeing.
I also like the deepness of psychology and philosophy and the fact that the Buddha described already 2500 years ago a multidimensional universe (or multi-reality to be more precise).
I share the view that beeing a human on planet earth is like beeing a prisoner.
And there are practical ways shown how you can get out of that prison in the end (breaking the cycle of rebirth by the use of the Noble Eightfold Path)
But there are also parts im more cautious of. In my opinion becoming an arahat straight away involves too much superstition because there are clearly some experiences needed in the higher realitys to really find out yourself if all of the deeper teachings are true.
So i would prefer like becoming a stream winner and keep the buddhist philosphy in the back of my mind while investigating in them and giving other philosophys also a chance.

To summarize it: I feel very privileged to have buddhism around.

May all beeings be happy and well

I approve of it.

It is a great human construct that seems to satisfy the human's needs while being socially balanced and living in harmony with both other humans and nature.

Another interesting question might be the opposite. Of those who understand and have studied Buddhism, yet shun it... what are your negative "issues" with Buddhism and specifically what are they?

I do not shun it at all, as I find it overwhelmingly optimistic in nature, but the only negative aspect that I can conclude thus far would be that despite scriptual teachings and claims of the indoctrinated, it is still a form of organized religion. Albeit a peaceful and harmonious version of religion in comparison to the standard western monotheistic affairs, I highly doubt that the Buddha as a master teacher who had reached personal enlightenment had intended for his disciples to dilute his offerings of knowledge as a eventual derivative to worshiping him as an idol, albeit not as an actual deity, as well as give credible emotional attachment to other sacred relics. I will have more depth to divulge, through an analytical approach, later on through both my personal and academic research on the subject.

Buddhism gets practised in every county differently so research is maybe not so easy.
Ive heard that in some countrys there are too much rituals / traditions / worshipping going on because the Suttas (original teachings of the Buddha) were only available in old languages like Pali and Sanskrit for a long time. So most people hadnt the ability to see if the way they practise buddhism is the right one. As more people are becoming aware of the Suttas (because of good translations) buddhism will go back to its roots finally.

Thank you very much for your response and sorry i took so long to get back to you guys.
I share a lot of the same believes as Hypnos and what he is saying, but i am actually going to make Buddhism a big part of my life, so i can reach enlightenment before the end of this lifetime. Soon enough, hopefully i am going to take a one way trip to Tibet or the Himalayas and see what i can learn from true monk.

I thank you all for your responses.

I am not a buddhist because I dont worship him or anything related but I do live my life by him as much as posible. To me its all about the journey to nirvana. To me nirvana isnt an actual concrete place. Its a state of mind. Its every where. Every time I experience hapiness to me that means I am geting closer to nirvana. Nirvana to me is the happiest and most fullfilling place in the world and the hapier and more comfortable I feel I am just that much closer to nirvarna. I'm against religoun so people find it weird that I even think budha exists. The reason Im against it is because U can prove it against but yet people have been dieing and killing in the name of god for thousands of years. No matter how bad u want to U cant prove a god is real. U can prove the people that died for the so called god is real though. The only thing I worship if u want to call it that is earth. I can prove it is here, it takes care of me, i makesme hapy, its always there for me. Wat more can I ask? I have a weird beleife syste but I combine budha and the way I feel about earth and just kinda put it together.

Go to that thread its really interesting
Reality, Conciousness, Singularity

I just post in it.

I do not worship Buddha but i respect him. There is no God. We are the God. We are not being judge by anyone. All the other religions have the same roots basically. I wrote alot more information in the thread i post above.

I believe that Karma is real, and all of Buddha's teachings are real. But i also believe Buddha is just a man, a man with an intelligence level beyond almost everyone person in existence. But he was very special, for he discovered one of the most spiritual forces on Earth that shows in everyday life: Karma. I believe God created Karma, and Buddha discovered it. Like Christoper Columbus and America basically. But i have one savior and his name is Jesus Christ. I believe to worship Buddha as a religion would be wrong, for Buddha isnt a god. But all of his teachings, in my opinion, is how every person should live there life. Which to me makes Buddhism a way of life, not a religion. Peace and Love to all. One Love One God
