What are my buds so small?? (WITH PICS)!!

it might also have to do with the strain of the plant. and how they were treated as babies.. if you had any problems with defficency in the early stages it can some times take a toll on your plants later in life

what nutes are you using???

Same thing is happening to me. Ue a 1000HPS for flower and I cant even get an oz from a 3 ft plant. I get probly a quarter. Thats of course after all the small buds and trim go into the hash pile. I have no clue whats going on. My soil is at the proper ph. But my plants in flower turn yellow about 3 weeks into bloom then all the leaves drop within 2 weeks. This is happening to every plant I put in there. So ive started mixing half bloom 2-6-6 and half grow 6-3-4 because people were saying N deficiency. I'll see if that works in the next 2 weeks. Everything Ive tried so far hasn't seemed to do anything. Changed soil mixtures, different organic formulas, strains,even bought a new tent and nothing.

You do give a nitrogen blast at about 2-3 weeks into flower as the 1-2 weeks no new nitrogen triggers the flower along with the higher bloom rates of pho and potassium. Are you using at least 3 gallon pots and good fans blowing air around?

Sativas have small buds? I havent ever seen that. sativas tend to have longer larger buds or colas from a few branches while indicas tend to be more nuggz and smaller fatter buds with many more branches.

Well Ill keep them on the 2 prt until week 3 and see how that does. I'll udate this thread.

For starters the strain is an indica. And whats wrong with my lights? I have a 1000HPS 6" from the tops.

I have been in flower for about two months and I have buds super small all you see is hairs not too much plant matter I have them in 1.5gallion pots under a 250w hps light 28,000 lumans I'm. Only flowing 3 plants I'm not sure ways wrong but your look nice!!!!!

Yes, this is defently a sativa grow which takes an eternity to fully bud

could be strain as well, you know some of those spindely plants with the smaller buds, with the long spindely hairs, still fire tho

The buds will usually grow to the same size of the owner penis. If you are small so will the buds. Peace.

I to have an aero unit (homemade.. large rubbermaid so its aeroponic verging on NFT) and I also only use GH nutrients (trio). My buds looked exactly like that a week ago and have begun to fill out. Here are some pointers that might help you increase they're size.

1) On the GH bottle it says to back off the nutrients if you plants are in a high lumen area. Mine certainly were! My EC in was 1.8 and it would jump to 3-4 within a day or two (I also have a super small res). I slowly began dropping the EC down to 1 and that seems to be the perfect concentration (EC now slowly drops .1 or .2 a day) FYI, I am at 45% strength of GH week 7 nutrients and use deionized water that has literally no EC contribution!

2) Use hydrogen peroxide and an air pump. Your res water spends most of its time sitting so adding as much oxygen as possible to the water will increase growth (especially is your grow room tends to run hot).

3)The worst part about aero units is their contribution to RH (in my opinion/experience at least). I am able to keep mine around 50 (but I also have a small dehumidifier and live in a humid region). Try dropping RH as much as possible (no lower than 30 ish) and your buds should fatten up even more. Part of my problem is that I grew a 3 plant jungle. Bud sites EVERYWHERE, but the growth is sooo dense that RH is a problem.

Well RH stands for relative humidity. It would be a lot easier for water to evaporate in this type of system (aeroponics) and contribute more to humidity.
