What am I missing?

I'm trying to see if I'm leaving anything out before I start.

I'm going to be using a room that is 10 by 13 with an eight foot ceiling.

I have a 1000 watt hps light, my seeds, and my dirt and pots. I live by people in a neighborhood. Do I need anything for ventilation and will I need anything to cover the smell up?

Also I just ordered my 1000 watt light. Can it be plugged straight into the wall socket or do I have to rigg the power.

Fan/filter combo would be a good idea when you enter the flowering phase, but you should be fine during veg. Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.4hydroponics.com/grow_room/can-fan-combos.asp
You should also have a small oscillating fan to thicken your plants' stems.

venting for an area that big is a good idea. you have to have airflow through the room. you could do this with a oscelating fan or two and as far as smell you could get a carbon scrubber and run it in your room.
