Don't act like that's such a big deal because back when Obama beat Hillary they were both opposed to same sex marriage.
It is a big deal to those who it denies equality to, that isn't my meaning. But in determining the worth of a politician, it isn't a big deal.
In fact if your point of view is that elected officials should represent the will of their constituents it is almost their duty to do things like that, but its a boring topic.

What you call a big deal was something virtually every politician did a decade or less ago. Obama may have said things supporting gay marriage but it was in his first term when he officially changed his stance to pro gay marriage.

Here is his own campaign guy saying he opposed gay marriage during the 08 election. I remember watching the event live when he came out in favor of it, announcing he had changed his mind.

I'm not surprised that Obama lied to the whole country. No one is. But that isn't the point.
The point was as recent as 08 the Democrat candidate for president HAD to be anti gay marriage to be electable. Its ridiculous to criticize another party for holding the same position your party held just a couple elections ago.
