What about growing a plant outdoors in hydro?

I know that if you take the same strain and medium and grow them indoors and outdoors the outdoor plant will always win. But what about growing outdoors in hydro, given perfect conditions would you end up with a plant that is crazy big?

I have searched the site for this same topic. What I found on the topic was not very promising. Issues with water temps and poorly designed setups was all i could find.

I think the answer to the water temps are easy enough to over come. If you had a garden like I do you could just use a drain to waste system. Have your nutrient tank down in your basement and pump the nutrients out to the plant or plants on a timer. Then the waste would go into your garden. (Plus Plus)

To start you would need something to plant in. Something of good size probably, Like a 55 gallon drum cut in half from top to bottom. Then laid out cut side down with a 10 inch net pot bucket lid cut to fit in the top. Filling it up with hydroton will cost a bit, but I think it would be well worth it. Especially if you could build it into some sort of a green house to deter would be thieves and unwanted onlookers.

I was given these a while back and the ideas just started flowing.

They are actually pallets but they look like 6 plant pots hooked together. Complete with drain holes and everything. The sides even have pockets that would be perfect for framing them into a floor for a greenhouse. Only problem I can see is they would only be big enough to run autos in them, cause normal marijuana plant using hydro like this would grow to large. Unless you cut a 55 gallon drum in half from top to bottom and laid it cut side down on top of each pallet. I have 4 of these pallets and I envision a 4 ft walkway around all 4 of them. Or ruffly a 20ft by 20ft green house for 4 plants. :weed: It would take a good charge of hydroton to fill these pallets and drums but i think it would be epic.

Then run 4 rows of rain gutter under the pallets to collect the waist and divert it into the garden.

For the walls and roof it would be best to have multiwall polycarbonate. To bad that stuff is so expensive. I will have to do some more thinking on this! Every thing up to this point I could do, without that much money invested (except hydroton). But I would definitely want some good strong walls to protect my medicine, if I where to go through all this!!

Let me know what you folks think?
