Wet trim vs dry trim?

I've always trimmed wet and left the buds on their branch to dry.
Reading an article in GrowMag they recommend removing big leaves, dying, and then trimming over a screened tray.

I'm considering this.
Pros and cons?

Good topic with tons of opinions on both methods. Harvesting is a bittersweet thing for me, a worthy pain in the ass though. I've tried all methods, and for my own sanity, I break it up:

I chop whole plant or halve it (I mainline so halving the plant is easy), then remove big fan leaves, some big sugar leaves, dry it, then cut stems off one by one, dry trim, then jar. Personally I think it's more efficient than wet trimming. The sugar leaves often pull right off and the thing about losing trichomes with dry trimming is rubbish. Careful handling is key to trichome preservation. Dried buds are easier to handle in my opinion. Hell I rarely touch a bud, I handle by the stems and only the tips of my Fiskars comes in contact with the buds (for the most part). I don't save trim so a screen is not needed. But I can see it being helpful if you're doing something with trim.

I'm chopping a beauty in just a couple hours in fact!

OP here's a halved mainline with fan leaves and big sugar leaves removed. On those I go for what opens up space between stalks, ones I can snip without disturbing the buds. Best to open up spaces between the stalks, if anything a good general focus. From here I'll pluck each bud while trimming away leaf. Straight to jar for cuing..

That looks great.
With my limited space I'll need to use my hanging 6 level screen drier rack. I'll use a fan in the tent to move the air and the exhaust fan as needed to keep the humidity down.

I like to dry with the sugar leaves on(big fans removed first), I like a good 7-10 day dry before jar so leaves on helps get it, then I'll pluck the leaves out with gloves on while jarring, takes forever, but I trim the leaves over a parchment lined shoebox, finished buds go in the lid, hash run trim in the lined box, one full "lid" equals half a quart

personally I wet trim because of time issues.trimming one plant is a long process alone, nevermind trying to trim 6 at once (plus causing a space issue) like others have mentioned, you're going to get a lot of opinions on this,I've done both and like to cut a plant, hang the whole thing, remove one branch at a time, trim the big ass leaves, and some of.the bigger sugar leaves I don't want to keep then hang that branch.once I get the whole plant trimmed of those bigger leaves,I will come back and fine trim all the smaller leaves (which I save) and that's my finished bud before it goes into jars.then ill harvest my next mature plant.the wet trim does seem to lose its nice smell after a couple days but comes back 10-fold after it's cured in jars.the curing is the most important part for nice smelling and smoking bud.I think the curing also brings out alot of nice crystals as well.there is nothing wrong at all with the dry trim, like I said it's a time issue for me,and I think it's also a little more time consuming dry trimming.good luck!

Ideally, I prefer wet trimming, I find it to be easier. Get the fans and bigger sugar leaves, snip the ends of the small ones. As it drys the small sugar leaves pull into the bud. Plus, you only handle it once. In reality, my trimming generaly revolves around my drying areas humidity, too dry and I don't wet trim in order to slow drying.
