Wet top Soil For Weeks

hello everyone. yes i am posting another thread. a few weeks ago i transfered my plant into a bigger pot but used some different top soil but added perlite and vermiculite plus the top soil had peat moss and maybe its own perlite. i watered the pot a few weeks ago and the soil is still wet on top and a few inches down. i am wondering if this is good/bad and if i should just go buy some more better potting soil and replant it. although the plant is still growing and looking healthy im just wondering if anything bad will happen

if it's not broken don't fix it. i say leave it in there till the soil drys out then water it again. do you have drainage holes on the bottom of the pot? you should. you should get a moisture meter if you can. i got a moisture/ph/light meter at Lowes for 8 bucks!

yea get the moisture meter...they even have some for 4 dollars. It takes the guess work out of when you should water. And yea if it isnt damaging the plant leave it be and let her grow...

How does the plant look.. Is it drooping? I never use vermiculite.... I never want my soil to stay moist for more than 7 days....

If your leaves are not drooping then you have not suffocated the roots....

What temperature is your grow room?

Garden Knowm: like i said my plants look healthy and i dont know the temp of my grow room. its just in the spare bedroom next to an open window to get air. at night i close the window when it gets cooler. im just a beginner and dont have all the tools necessary yet. i just went and bought some black gold potting soil with earthworm castings and some fox farm big bloom. i only watered my plant when the top of the soil lokked really dry. and when i do that it sucks it right up. it had been at least two weeks since i last watered and wanted to get some nutes to the plant and since the soil looked wet i couldnt do that. so i just went the easier route and repotted without verm. i did add some perlite to the soil though because the black gold didnt have any in it. basically i just wanted to get some fox farm big bloom and be able to water with it more than once every two weeks. but there was some type of white spider web looking shit growing on the top of the soil. i think it was maybe some type of fungus so i just got some new soil to be safe. i think it was just the water was sitting in the soil to long and getting stagnant.

i'll wager you don't have a fan on it. get you an oscillating fan and you're straight.

what are you talking about? the post is titled wet top soil for weeks and you replied with ill bet you dont have an oscilating fan on it. im confused.

wtf? do you want dry soil or dank nugs? if your plant looks good then stfu. if you want dry soil, then put a fan on it. easy as that.
