Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
A little introduction before I post the pictures of my plants. This is my fifth year growing outdoors, My favourite strain to grow has been Lemon Kush due to the great results it has with my climate. If you check out my profile, you will see threads I've posted in which I display my other outdoor grows and my learning curb.
This year my room mate got 3 giant bins from that his work place that they were just tossing away. So I said fuck it, Lets put some drainage in it and some good soil and she will be ready. However I feel this is causing a lot of issues due to their not being quite enough drainage, So right now I'm worried that water is not evaporating fast enough and it might be rotting the roots.
My soil mix is as follows:
2 Parts Coco Peat & Perlite (50%)
1 Part Sheep & Cow Manure
At the bottom is about 2-3 inches of Perlite to help with drainage.
A pinch or two of Blood and Bone spread between the middle layer.
The fertilisers I've been using are:
Seasol (Which is a popular Australian Kelp Concentrate) at the rate or Once-Twice a week.
Epsom Salts - Every fortnight few days before I feed with Nitrogeon
A product called Charlie Carp, Which is a nitrogen based fertiliser enriched with seaweed and helps get rid of European Carps in Australian rivers.
Showing recent pictures to me is not enough, So I've posted a pictures at various stages of growth

Day 77 (Most Recent 24th December 2017)

Day 77 Girl Scout Cookies
(First time growing this strain, this plant had the fastest growth out of all the rest but now it seems to be declining. It still has healthy foliage but the tips are starting curl and the plant has a lot less vigour than the Lemon Kush)

Day 77 Lemon Kush #1
(This plant has been growing great, it wasn't as fast as the Girl Scout Cookies but it is overtaking it now and has a lot more vigour than the rest!)

Day 77 Lemon Kush #2 (Rockwool Cube)
(This plant was stunted for a little while that is why it is so small but it has sorted it self out and seems to be quite healthy. This one was started in a rockwool cube unlike the first two)

Day 77 Lemon Kush #3
(This plant was also in a rockwool cube, It was topped and rescued from a failed indoor grow room. It looks quite stressed out and am waiting for it to recover)

Day 77 Northern Lights Big Bud
( Everything I did with the other rescue plant, I did here also. Except this plant has been far more resilient to the the mistreatment and is growing at a far more faster rate.)

Usually the pest problems I have consist of Aphids, Ants and Caterpillars. But the size and scale of the pots these plants are in have minimised this issues but in hand have given me new challenges to face. A large out break of thrips in the garden. I was using a Garlic/Chilli spray but that was very ineffective and the infestation didn't decrease, So I switched to a foiler spray with Neem oil. About 5mls to 2litres of clean water and that seem's to be working for now.
I've been diligently checking the temperature everyday because here on this side of Western Australia the climate is very dry and often times exceeds temperatures over 28c/82.5f so when that does happen, I throw over some shade cloth and that helps with dropping down that temperature.
Last year my plants started flowering on February 1st when the days get shorter. So I've only got about a month of veg left before I start using a product called CANNA TERRA FLORES, which is a nutrient line designed for Coco perlite mixes. I've used this stuff on other plants and got great results. In future I will change to a more organic product.
So yeah that's pretty much it, If anyone has comments, suggestions, tips or otherwise please!!!! Drop a comment, even if you think my grow is shit. All your comments and advice will go into furthering my education in growing Cannabis and Cultivating other plants in the future.
