What kind of problems should I expect watering my soil based planted with super hard none softened well water? Like 550 ppm hard.

Don't even try to grow w/o an r.o device.......it may be fine in veg, but in flowering you'll develop numerous issues and the crop WON'T be healthy. You water is bad, just like mine.

Bad I had same issue. Nasty water and eventually got a water softener. And now I just run a air stone for 24-48 hrs well I did b4 too but never helped. I completely agree with the guy who said don't do it w out getting RO system. Or something

I feel your pain

You could try. Make sure you select a three part nutrient that has a hard water micro. That will limit extra Ca. If plants don't do well...buy RO water and mix 50/50. A more doable number.

Been growing with 385 ppm well water for over 10 years. Never lost a plant because of my water.

Test the ph daily, but yeah I'd be buying in some Reverse Osmosis device, that way you needn't go bald to much with age, the plants will love you for it, search ebay real cheap

I thought that softened water was bad to use because of the osmotic effect on the plant cells. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I thought softened water makes plant flaccid.

The well water in my area runs around 1250ppms. I don't know whats in it but when the pot of water I have on the wood stove dries out there is a lot of white stuff on the bottom of the pot. I tasted it and doesn't taste like anything, maybe calcium?

I run well water, I use GH, fix my ph to 6.2 - 6.0 with GH down, it stays down.... Run my nutes as directed on the bottle. It all depends really.
