Well here goes nothing

After 2+ months of reading, researching countless forums, and letting my room run with no plants in it to monitor temps and RH, I am finally ready to plant my seeds and put them in the room. I plan to just plant them right in the soil in the 3 gallon pots that they will call home. Should I "scratch" the seeds in the sand paper tube before putting them in the soil? And just to make sure I'm doing this right, when I fill my pots with soil, do I water the soil and then put in the seed or should I plant the seed in dry soil and then water?

And fyi, I will be growing Seedsman Auto Great White, Auto Blue, and Auto Kush. Anyone have any experience with these?

Don't scratch the seeds too much, but you can totally do that to expedite germination. Also plant the seed, then water (that's what I do anyway.)

Scratch seeds in sand paper? never heard of this, I germinate my seeds using the paper towel method, But if you want to just put them in soil wet the soil first put them about 1/2 and inch in and then cover over.

the original tip i read was ,put some sandpaper in a match box, then put the seeds in and shake.

(so lightly scratch the seeds)

i presume you´d want fairly fine sandpaper, but not too fine.

also this tip was for old seeds. this article was from the 80´s and they were talking about 70´s seeds.

Never hear of any scratching the seeds technique, but good luck on the grow! You have come to the right place for people who will help you out along the way, I can assure you of that!!

Scratching just helps water get to the seed faster, hence making germination quicker. The paper towel method is what I use, but once it has a taproot, plant it in soil THEN water.
