Wow bro! Congratulations! My two are now evil teenage girls!!! I'll add to BB09's advice on sleeping. Keep the house loud especially when they sleep and during nap times. Play the stereo, vacuum the floor, etc. If a baby can fall asleep in a stroller in the middle of a shopping mall, then the same noise level is fine in the house. They will learn to sleep through anything! Otherwise they grow up being light sleeper's and will startle easily. Also if they become light sleepers, you will never get anything done!!

I'm looking forward of pics of the ladies. Hopefully you haven't neglected them too much. ;)

LOL thanks guys! Funny you said that. This is actually my second child so i'm a little ahead of the game this time. But when my daughter was born my wife always said the same thing, "vacuum next to the crib". By the time she was 4 I was in a metal band and we would practice at full stage volume in the room directly below her bedroom. 3 nights a week the neighbors would call the cops and complain but she would stay sound asleep!!

But, as for now there ain't no rest for the wicked.

Gonna go type up that update for ya now, they got a little neglected but nothing a few days of TLC won't turn around......

Alright, it's 'bout time I got up off my ass and posted some kind of an update. <--wishful thinking lol. Well, as stated in my previous posts I've been a little busy round here lately. Everyone is doing well thus far. Thanks to you who gave advise and brought back a few memories round here. So, I snapped a few pics of the girls while over in the flowering chamber today just for you guys.;-) It's not much, but I'll get some more time soon and get back to normal round here. So, pics..... yeah.....let's go.

First, I've got a few group shots of the girls in the chamber. They're gettin' big. still stretched but not as bad as their mother. Starting to get that part down a little better now.

They stretched a bit too much, and a few of the tops on both girls got burnt:wall: The lights have been raised and the damage is done. I removed all roasted tips and leaves. Other than the burnt spots, they both are progressing nicely.

The burnt tips you see on the back leaves is from the top growing right into a 23w CFL. That was the worst that I left on them, for now anyways.

Bud sites are starting to really throw out some hairs now. This is the beginning of the really fun part about hydro. What a difference 2 weeks makes and they just explode from here.

This is a cool looking shot of some of the inner bud sites with a bud from their "grandmother" plant. Grandma gets chopped next week! can't wait:lol:

Here's a bud shot from their mother plant. She's still got about 3 weeks or so left. She suffered some heat stress from the new 400w bulb I got for christmas. I swapped out the new bulb, and left for the hospital about 8 hours later. Needless to say the new light is a LOT brighter! She'll bounce back, might just take an extra week. Her buds are getting so heavy that all the branches are starting to fall over. Had to tie her up a bit. LOL, I've got worse problems than my buds being too heavy for the branches!

Family shot. 3 generations of beautiful budding babes! I just wish i had a better camera to get some clearer shots.

I didn't get a shot of the roots the other night while i changed the rez, but i lifted the lid to snap a quick shot under their skirts for all you dirty bastards out there.

And last but not least a shot of my new toys from christmas! "Santa" brought me exactly what I wanted this year:lol: Now I can stop fucking around with these stupid drop testers and trying to figure out if there really is a hint of green in the water or is it more orange or.....I'm sure most of you know what I mean.

That's all I got for now folks. Thanks for stoppin by! I'll be around a little more now that we're all back at the house and starting to settle down again. Hope everyone had a great holiday season.

on a quick side note, If there is anyone who uses photobucket to upload their photos on their posts and they can get the pics to post bigger than the ones I'm posting, could you please pm me and help me out. My pics are big and more detailed on my computer, but when I upload them to photobucket they get smaller. It's got to be a setting somewhere, just can't figure it out. I'd like to post the best quality pics I can, and this is just starting to piss me off! Someone help me out here. Thanks

ooh me, me! It looks like you are linking to a lower res (thumbnail) version, maybe 300x300, from your photobucket account rather than the link to the full res version and it's possible RIU resizes them as well when displaying them. That's what they do when you upload to your album and in this case RIU has a limit of 800x600. Here's the best solution:
  1. Google and download a small program called Irfanview
  2. learn the keystrokes Ctrl-Y for crop and Ctrl-R for resize
  3. Learn the keystrokes L and R to rotate Left and Right
  4. Learn the keystroke F to toggle between Full Size view and Fit to Screen view.
  5. Learn how to use the resolution of your camera to zoom as so:
    • Take pics by standing back a bit and getting a good focus.
    • Bring the pic into Irfanview and cut away the parts you don't want to show by cropping them (Ctrl-Y).
    • Even though you cut away part of the pic, it may still be bigger than 800x600. Use Ctrl-R to resize them to something equal to or less than 800x600.
    • save the modified version of the pic
  6. Take those pics and upload them to your RIU Album
  7. After the pic is in your album click on it to see the full size version
  8. Scroll down and select the BB Code, copy it and paste it directly into your post

Here's 3 different views of the same pic all resized to 800x600.

Original resized from 2816x2112

Irfanview has been my all-time favorite image editing program for over 10 years! It has so many features and add-ons and is such a small tiny program. You should check out it's batch mode! You can rename, resize, convert, multiple pics in one click!!!!

Hope this helps!

ok i'm stoned and i guess i spoke too soon. I'm using a mac and I don't think there is a compatible version. Resizing/cropping the image is not so much my problem. I'm comfortable enough with photoshop to take care of all that. I think my problem is with photobucket. I select the album i want to put it in, i upload and when i view the album i click the image to see it then click image link and paste it in the post. however, when i view the image in photobucket it is small there as well, the same size it is in my posts. this makes me belive that photobucket is resizing my pics when i upload them. It sounds like a setting to me, but i can't find it or i could just be plain wrong (it happened once before...lol)
either way, thanks JS for the helpful post. +rep for the quick and helpful post either way! I'm gonna try to upload them into the album the way you said after i do my resizing in photoshop and see how it comes out. I'm pretty sure this little guy is gonna keep me up half the night anyways......

If anyone else has any input, I appreciate any alternative sources of knowledge.

Until then, i raise my bong and toast this Bubba Kush to all of you. (it's got me pretty toasted anyways....)

Damn right that helps bro! Thanks and +rep to you. Gonna google it right now.
Good deal!

My camera is an older 7 megapixel camera at 2800x2100 resolution which can print a clear picture at 39"x29"! A lot of the newer consumer cameras are in the 4000x3000 range which print pictures that are 55"x41"! In macro mode and in focus, you can get into the hairs just by cropping!!! Even closer if you use optical zoom on the camera. Never use digital zoom on a camera and in fact many cameras allow you to turn it off in the settings. What the camera does is digitally crops the optically zoomed in image and then resizes back UP to the full resolution setting. This makes the image fuzzy and it only get's worse when you try and reduce it back down!

Irfanview does much better at cropping!!

Oops. Didn't see your last post. Photoshop works well too! :D Irfanview is the best FREE app on the market. But it doesn't do layering like Photoshop. That's what I use when I have to put myself back into a group picture! :)

It's the Northern Lights #5 crossed with Arjan's Haze
At least that's what I was told by the good friend who gifted the original clones to me.

Honestly, that's really all i know about it genetics wise. I'm about to harvest the first generation of clones I got either tomorrow or monday. She is in soil and was stressed to high hell. She's got 8 tops and will prob only yield about 1/2 ounce or so dry but she looks good. Very frosty and tight buds. The second batch, which is the mother of the two here in the thread, will probably be ready for harvest in about 2 weeks or so, and she's worlds ahead of her momma. I'll try to snap a few pics of her for the next update. I just pulled a little tester bud from her tonight. sticky and smells amazing! I'll get a pic up soon and a smoke report. thanks for checking things out here.

Thought I'd post a few pics of what I saw in the flowering chamber this evening. Harvested "grandma" (the one in soil) tonight. She is the last of the original clones that were gifted to me when i received this strain from a good friend. She was stressed from the word go, transplanted 4 times and still managed to finish, barely. I'll be lucky to get a 1/2 ounce dried, but it's the clones that she gave to me that are the real gift.
I'll have pics of the harvest soon, but for now I've got this.....

This is a shot of a sample that was pulled from "grandma" last week. Not sure how I got such a good shot of her with this shitty camera, but it worked out great.

This is the best shot I could get of the next in line to get harvested. This is the mother of the girls I'm focusing on in this thread. She was originally about 3 weeks behind her mother, but she was the first of her strain to be grown in DWC tubs. I checked out her trichs tonight, and between moms stress and the beauty of DWC, she's just about ready to be harvested herself! I'm gonna start her flush tomorrow, and she'll probably get the chop in a few days! An unexpected surprise!

That's all I've got for now. Let me know what you think.
It's snowing like crazy here right now, just might get a day off work tomorrow.
sweet.

Thanks bro! The smoke is KILLER!!! Nice and smooth, good buzz just doesn't last quite as long as I would like, but that was without a cure so I know it'll be better in a few weeks.
Got an update coming this weekend sometime, I've been slacking again......

Everything is looking good in the flowering chamber this week. The girls have been steadily packing on weight. Just bumped their feeding up to full strength flower nutes and threw in some Monster Bloom to help them really bulk up for the next 2 weeks or so.
