I haven't heard of many people doing the 10-14 method. If anything I usually hear of 14 on 12 off (even though this makes for an inconsistent light schedule on a day to day basis, the 12 hours of darkness is sufficient for the plants to keep flowering while having more light throughout their 'day').

I have heard Sativa growers using 13/11 for veg and 11/13 for flower. The weather channel online lists sunrise sunset times in the region your are trying to emulate. I always wonder if it would be better to fade the light on like sunrise and fade it off like sunset. My outdoor girls really like cloudy days and I wonder how you could emulate that - a filter over the light?

You don't want to emulate nature that much... nature takes longer to flower than a 12/12 indoor schedule. A cloudy day is a day the plant did not reach it's full bud development potential.

It was my first round of trying the 10 hours on so I'm not sure how it will pan out. If anything I went maybe a week longer that I planned, but, I used Spectra LEDs along with Blackstar and didnt have the burning that I always got before. I busted out the SCROG and had my personal best LED yeild and still great quality. This first round was also moved from 12/12 to 10/14 abour half way through the grow, I'll stick with it and see what happens. I'm just thinking if the light is too intense that reducing the length of time the plant is exposed might keep it healthy and still give it the light/energy it needs?? Can't say I'm being scientific, just trying to get the most out of my Spectra investment. I also mix Spectra with Blackstar over each SCROG so that may help too?

Sorry, not trying to jack your thread. Just wondering if anyone had similar thoughts or experience. Keep up the great work!

subbed, sorry i'm late to the new thread will be very interested to see how the big daddy chrome does against the pro, i've got the smallest chrome going the 4 spot model and the 200w california light works SolarFlare but i know Pro makes a quality light so i'm in for the show.

also as a note to previous comments i just listened to Danny Danko's Freeweed podcast with a grow panel from the last high times medical cup and swerve, dj short, and i forget who else all seemed to be down with flowering on a 11/13 light schedule.

They are down with it or they personally use it? There's never been any problem going 11/13 or 10/14 other than the fact that fewer light hours = longer flower. One hour less a day works out to roughly 2-3 extra days flower all things being equal... the question is what advantage do you get from 11/13??

at least two of the panelist sounded like they used it i'd have to go back and listen to know which. but its free to get it at itunes under freeweed podcast or at hightimes website under danny danko and free weed.

Hey all! I know rooting isn't the most exciting, but here is an update 20 days into veg (:
I give it another week, 2 max, and we will be ready for the flower portion of the testing.

I am looking at getting bs 240w. there 2 different ones wonder witch one i should get to get the most yield. there's a veg/flowing one and one thats just for flowing. If there not that much of difference in yield i was gonna get the veg/flowing and use it for both but if there's a difference in yield i rather not. This is to anyone that can help and to wejuana

get the flowering light, it will handle the full cycle for you, and flower much better than the veg light

The 336X pro draws around 340w if my memory serves me correctly. I have not done a draw test on the new Chrome LED, but I will do that soon and post the wattage draw numbers.

I swear by the 240w high output light! If it was me though, I would probably get the 240w flower spectrum led and veg using fluorescent lights. I think the plants take to the change in color spectrums in addition to light change real well, as opposed to having a flower spectrum throughout the entire life of the plant.

As it is now, I currently do my vegging with fluorescent lights.

in a nutshell:

Nirvana AK48, 1 plant, 1 BS 240 --> 82 g (first grow ever)
RP Kandy Kush, 1 plant, 1 BS 240 --> 98 g
G13 Purple Haze, 1 plant, 2 BS 240 --> 232 g

GH Waterfarm, GH nutes

There are certainly better lights, but the Blackstars do work
