Weird seedling

I put a12 bag seeds in solo cups to germinate and keep outside pending sex( males I bag and toss ). My question is does anybody know what’s going on with my one seedling? Been like this for a week now and hasn’t straightened up yet. Just plain dirt in a cup and let nature do the rest. I really don’t even check them other than to see if they need water

Since they're all seed starts they're all genetically unique in certain ways even if they're all from the same plant. That one is just a bit messed up. Hormone or auxin levels, weird genetic code, might just be slow. Probably not environmental as you have lots of plants and only that one is off. It might come around but if not then it's probably best to chuck it; you have lots of plants started, put your efforts into the best ones unless you need them all.

That thing stayed that way up until yesterday when I tossed it. Never got bigger or died. Just stayed the same. I kept it this long to see if it would pull through.(nope ). Thanks for the comment and info. This hobby has become my favorite by far. I don’t comment much but I’ve learned a lot. Just not enough to comment other than opinions. But reading this site and others all my girls are doing amazing thanks to knowledge and advice here !

Probably better off without it in the long run; plus you have lots of plants so it won't hurt to cull a few of the weak from the herd.
Growing pot is an addiction. It'll start as a hobby but it lulls you in. It's challenging but the reward if you get a good grow is great. Nothing like your own weed.

It's good to notice things like that as it builds your knowledge. They all put up the seed leaves then build a root system before they put on foliage. It likely built it's root system like the others then ran out of a hormone or auxin or it was weak and a pest/disease invaded it. Or genetic mutation, they're all different from seed. Could just be weak seed to begin with. The seed is in the bag in the first place because mom was inclined to pop male stamens under some kind of stress. It can make for messed up offspring sometimes. Growing lots of seeds will let you exclude runts and messed up plants but you're going to have variation. That's OK though; you could have a great plant in there, you just have to find her.
