weird looking seedling

Whats up rou universe. first off new member here. Have a few succesful grows under my belt and decided to try a new strain. not sure what it is. Seed i got from a buddy out of some real good stuff. Lights is less than 2" away. was more concerned with the way the stem looks about 1/2 way up. maybe this pic will be easier to see. when the first set of true leaves started to show they just stopped and it started growing like it is. ive had to move my light several times when almost touching.

It seems to be growing fine. was just curious about the way the first leaf set seemed to stop then shot up from there. no worries i guess then. thanks guys

Lighting nutes? what has it been fed, tap water and any nutes yet?
 
If male it going straight to hell. lol. its under 2 23 watt cfls kept 1-2 inches away. i am using tap water but i let it sit 24 hours before use. very low on feeding nutes. cant remember brand of nutes. got from buddy of mine a while back and he used with great results. would ask him but he recently passed away.

Hey, could be really off here but those tips look a bit burned and if youve been feeding(more than once) i would think starting of nute burn. i do not feed any younger plants for at least a month, other than a CalMg+.. you probable wont need that since your on tap.
and the stretching could be just strain/pheno related you would think 2 inches in close enough.
hope everything works out, but my suggestion is 6.5 ph'd straight water for at least 2-3 weeks. and most soils have avail NPK among many other nutes for early growth. We only need to replenish once those are used up. What is your soil BTW? Also if you just useing one product are you sure its a Veg nute?
 
Water is phd close to 6.5 within .2. Soiless mix of sphagnum, vermaculite, and perlite. 100% positive on veg nutes. yeah ive probably fed a bit much but that was from not paying attention when mixing. light still has to moved almost every other day. its so much taller than the other one sitting next to it. will try and post side by side pic later. at doctor office at moment.
 
Ok. heres the side by side of the two that o started. i guess one is sativa dom and one is indica dom. both seem to be growing just fine. light was moved out of frame to take pick. still less than 2" from tallest one and apparently the other isnt stretching for light.

could be the genetics. Are they both from seed or clones? In any case nutes are really needed only from the 3rd week or so.

Let em carry on and see what happens.
 
Both from seed. I havent quite got the hang of cloning yet. which sucks cause im fixin to flower one i have in scrog. but thats a whole other deal.
