Weights and Measures at AZ Dispensaries

Firstly - I m not complaining. But I am curious.

Do the dispensaries follow standard guidelines when they measure our MMJ?
ASTM standards, maybe?

I have noticed that Algea Releaf has delivered grams to me that weigh 'at least' 1.0g. The variation in weight is minimal. 1.10g, 1.04g,1.07g. That is 3% deviation, which seems like a fairly precise range for a gram.
The 1/8 oz containers are measured to 3.65g, and 4.37g. So this seems like a wider range of measurement. I need a third weight to calculate deviation.
The weight is 'at least' 3.5g, so the overage does benefit the patient.

dude i think you got a little too much time on your hands, or you need to put down the pipe, lol....

I'm not sure what the rules are, but it's up to them what quantities they want to sell it in and i highly doubt they are required to be precise to within a hundredth of a gram of what they advertise. most of them probably weigh it with a common digital scale that's only accurate to .1g anyways. in all practicality there's no reason to be any more precise than that

they could do it like food, say lunch meat, where it's say $5.99 a pound, but they weight it over and charge you $5.99 a lb, plus w/e it was over..
i'd surely not be bitching about heavy bags though..

I know you guys follow the ADHS/ARS rules closely, and are invested in support of MMJ.

Mine are always heavy...I use a "metric oz"..30gm as a measure

They are supposed to have their scales calibrated by weights and measures. That being said there is still a human putting it into the bag or bottle.

Ive purchased from Dispensaries 4x now. My scale is not "licensed" but a penny weighs 2.5g on it! Thats good enough for me =)


PARC - 1/8th weighed 3.4g

Bloom- 1/8 weights 3.6g

Phoenix Relief - 1/8th weighed 3.9g (they do tell you up front theirs are always heavy)

Giving Tree Mesa - 1/8th weighed 3.5g

I'm a Nickel man my self. Always carry one just in case .

Our scales (balances) were certified annually by the state also.
We verified the calibration daily with certified mass (weights).
The calibration was always within a specified range.
The calibration was documented.
Troubleshooting ensued when the weights started to show drift.
The verification could not deviate by more than about +/- 10%.

That is what made me curious about the two 1/8th I bought. As I said in the op up there.
Hypothetically; The weight of the final product shall be (= to or greater than 3.5g, but not greater than 3.7g).
I was wondering what kind of range was allowed when measuring the weed.

Hopefully - it is always heavy.

BTW - A set of mass weight can be had on Amazon inexpensive. In a box with tweezers.
My scale calibrates with a 100g mass.
I then check it with a 20g, a 0.5g, and a 0.2g.
Depends on how much I am weighing out. The set contains 6 or 7 masses.
Sometimes its jumpy, sometimes its solid.
