Week 4 going on 5 of veg

So It's been a little more than a month now and my plants are about 1 foot tall (FIMed) and I was wondering when I should start them on 12/12 and when I should expect to see some pre flowers because I'm really worried about having males in the mix...all advice appreciated.

from what i've been reading, you don't need to stress it that much. 12" is tall enough to suport flowering, but yeild will be less than if you wait a little more... once you go to 12/12 they will either show as male or female (male has little balls and females have little hairs at the internodes). once you see some balls kick them out of your garden. wont be a problem unless you let the male mature and release its pollen.

i prefer to wait until plants are at least 3 ft. tall.If using hid lighting,you are paying for the electricity might as well triple your yield!

IT is really up to you. IF you want MONSTERS, than let them go to 3 ft before you flower, but if you want some nice decent sized plants, flower them after they reach 12 in. Remember, Flowering plants double to triple the size they were in vege phase.

And do not worry about the males so much, if you check your grow room frequently there should be no possible way for them to nut pollen all over the place before you can catch them.
